Look at this latest collection from Little Yellow Bicycle:  Poppy.  The colors on this collection are FANTASTIC!   Love the reds, oranges, and green combinations.
These are the FAN-TABULOUS embellishments that coordinate with this fabulous new line of papers.
This looks like it will FLY out of the store, so hurry down to pick up your stash now!

Yesterday someone was doing some construction and cut one of the fiber-optic telephone lines and shut communication down in our city.  Cat used that time to put up some of the new product lines that were out on the tables.  She and Valerie work so hard getting the paper lines put up!

Tomorrow is a crop at the store.
I'm planning to be there....are you?
Call now to reserve your spot.

The end of school is nearing and so many people are VERY thankful that the end is in sight!
Of course, the end of the school year also means it is time for graduation.
TODAY ONLY, if you show this blog post,
 you will get
15% off
of all graduation themed collections at the store.
So come on down to the store and stock up on graduation products and save 15% while you can.

Another thing that many are very thankful for is that there are some really cute new western collections in the store.  Western collections are sometimes hard to find, but this year some really cute ones have been released.

This is the Carta Bella Giddy Up Boy collection.  It is already very popular....good thing that Cat ordered in doubles of this!
Look at the Carta Bela Giddy Up Girl collection!  Love all of those pinks and browns.
Valerie has already created a layout using these new collections featuring her adorable granddaughter and her horse, Clyde.  Love how she used the burlap in the middle of the page!

I hope you can visit the store today and take advantage of the sale on the graduation collections.  It's a great time to pick up those papers to create layouts of that special day.

It's Wednesday, and we want to know:
What's new, Pussycat?
How about some wonderful templates from Crafter's Workshop to use with all of those new paints and spray inks that we have gotten in the store.  I can see all kinds of possibilities with some of those new Viva Decor 3D paints, the Faber Castell gelatos, and those Heidi Swap and Dylusion spray inks.  The possibilities are endless!
Just in time for scrapbooking those Memorial Day and July 4th celebration photos.
Here are some vintage papers and stickers for a more vintage layout.  Kourtneigh stocked up
on these to use while scrapbooking some treasured photos of her Grandpa in the Navy.
We also have this wonderful Doodlebug patriotic collection that arrived a while back.
And the rest of the Doodlebug collection.

Come by the store to pick up some of these fantastic collections for your Memorial Day photos.  While you are here, check out the templates from Crafter's Workshop.  I have a feeling there might be some that are calling your name.....they are calling my name for sure!  LOL!

How are you going to celebrate the first day of June?  Saturday is the first Saturday crop and a lot of us will begin the month of June by cropping the day away.  Call now and reserve your spot....the crop is filling up fast!
Look at this sneak peek of the June tag class.  Lace, burlap, embossing.....sounds like a little big of paradise!  Nanci's tag classes are so much fun and filled with great techniques to use on more tags as well as other projects.  If you haven't taken one of these wonderful tag classes, call now to reserve a spot in the June 8th class so you can learn some cool techniques.
The tag class is at 2:00 p.m. and the class to make this adorable album is at 10:00 a.m.  This is one of the lickety slip albums that are so much fun to make and use.  I just finished the one from the 2012 NSD Retreat and filled it with photos.  LOVE this album.  I purchased extra page protectors and expanded the album a lot.  These albums are so versatile and are easy to expand.  Call the store to reserve one of these albums and have fun making it and then filling it with memories.  What a fun day.....album class in the morning and tag class in the afternoon.  I hope you can spend the day with us!

The Eclips class that was scheduled for Saturday has been cancelled due to a death in Kourtneigh's family.    It will be rescheduled for a later date.  Let's keep Kourtneigh and her family in our thoughts and prayers during this time of loss.

Remember the sneak peek of the Graduation album that Cat was working on?  She has it completed and just look at the finished product:
This is the cover and it is covered in black velvet.  The UNM stands for University of New Mexico, where Cat's niece graduated from.
Isn't this fabulous?!
It has all kinds of places for added pics (above is a mini-album inside).

There are two options available for this album:
  1. We can do just the album with chipboard for $9 and you can decorate it yourself.
  2. We can also do the album with precut pages (all black and white graduation theme) for $28 (front & back cover are velvet). You can then add your school colors in your selection of photo mats, ribbons, etc.
Cat is working on directions as well that will include the dimensions and directions for the 4 mini- inserts. On the last page of the album, Cat added a glassine bag to hold the invitation. Lots of great things to do with this album.   Just call the store at (940)327-0713 to place your order for this wonderful album.  I know I'm ordering one!

Congratulations to our WOW Wednesday winner:  #6, Papel Scissors on Teresa's blog.   Just a reminder that I am not counted when counting for the winning #.  Papel Scissors, contact Cat at the store (940-327-0713) for your prize.

If it's the second or fourth Wednesday of the month, then it is time for our WOW Wednesday linky party. We made a few changes to WOW Wednesday a few weeks ago:

  2. You have TWO WEEKS to participate.  I will be reminding you along the way that there is still time to participate.
  3. The winner will be announced on the next WOW Wednesday post.
Other than that, it is the same:

To be considered for the blog candy, you must post a project that you have created. WOW Wednesday must also be mentioned in your post and be sure to let your blog readers know that there is blog candy being given away to a random participant or commenter.  Would you like to participate, but do not have a blog? You do not have to have a blog to participate. You can find the directions on how to link up your creations that you have in a gallery here.

I hope you will share your fabulous creations with us. If you didn't have time to create anything, I hope you will share some love on everyone else's creations--we all love that positive reinforcement
Just a reminder that I am not considered for the blog candy, but anyone who comments on my blog IS in the running. Thank you to everyone who participates, either by posting some work or commenting on the blogs.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all those who were affected by the terrible tornado in Moore, Oklahoma last night.  So many lives were lost and there was so much devastation.

The June calendar is filling up with lots of fun projects that will tempt all scrapbookers!
Join us at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8th, to make this adorable 8x8 album using Bazzill's Lucy's Crab Shack collection and the Bazzill Lickety Slip albums and refills designed by Joey Otlo from Bazzill. Joey offered these kits at the retreat and Cat purchased the remainder to bring to the store for those that were not at the retreat. This is a great album for all of those fun summer pics.  The cost is $30
Student Supplies: basic tool kit, inks various adhesives

After you finish your cute album, at 2:00 p.m., Nanci is teaching the June Technique Tag Class that we shared peeks of yesterday.

School is almost out, so it is time to think of things to keep those kids busy during the summer.  Here is one solution:

Cat's will once again be hosting a 6 day crafty camp for all of those junior crafters out there. We have some awesome projects for them that even the moms will be jealous about!

DATES: June 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, & 27. Wednesdays & Thursdays.

TIME: 2-4 pm

INCLUDES: Basic Tool Kit (trimmer, scissors, adhesives, etc) These are the girls to keep. They must bring them to each class.
All Supplies for every project
Craft Apron

PROJECTS: Summer Mini-Album; Altered Frame for hanging photos or jewelry; Note board; Altered Box; Art Journal & Mini-Album

COST: $135

Space is limited so call early. Students must be old enough to stay the full two hours and work on projects or mom will need to stay. Some moms stay just to learn, LOL!

We hope that your junior crafter is able to join in on the fun this summer.

June 22nd is the Hidden Hinge album class taught by Sandy Trefger.  You don't want to miss this one!

June 29th is the benefit crop to build a house in Kenya.  Ann is hosting this crop and will provide lunch.  The crop fee is $30, all of which will go towards the building of a house.  There will be items auctioned off as well, so get ready for a fun day of creating and helping build a house.  Supper will be on your own.

Lots of fun things planned for get ready to have

Sandy shared a peek at the "marvelous" album class she is teaching on June 22nd.  Looks like FUN!!!   It's a two part class on the same day. First part--you will make the album (no decorating except for the front & back covers, spine and inside covers--just paper, no embellishments). You make the entire album including the covers, hidden hinge, pages and pockets! If you want to "pimp" it up similar to what Sandy is doing right now...sign up for the afternoon session (you must take the first session to assemble your album. Kind of hard to pimp up an album if you haven't made the album.  More details, class fees on events on Cat's Creations Scrapbooks Facebook page.  More photos to come, as Sandy gets more and more done to the sample album.

Have you taken one of Nanci's "marvelous" Technique Tag Classes?  We had some new "recruits" last month and they LOVED it!  So, hop on board for the June 8th class.  Just call the store and reserve your spot.  Pictured above is a peek at one of the tags "in progress".  Looks like paradise!!!

The store is packed with NEW product.  Cat and Valerie completely rearranged the store to make room for the new goodies.  Come on down and check it out.  I'm sure you will find lots that you "NEED".

Sunday, May 19, 2013

I don't know about you, but great paper collections inspire me.  These two new western collections from Carta Bella are already popular.  Cat ordered doubles on these because she knew they would be super popular, so we have plenty.  However, I wouldn't wait too long.  Valerie created the cutest layout today of "Peanut" riding Valerie's horse, Clyde.  We will be
sharing pictures of that later.
Cat's brain is in creative overdrive.  Since she just got back from her niece's college graduation in New Mexico, she is creating the cutest "mortarboard" shaped mini album for those graduation photos.  She hasn't decided if it will be a class or a kit that we can purchase.  Either way, I definitely need one!  Perfect home for my son's graduation photos!!!!  Watch the blog and facebook for pictures when she finished with her latest creation.
Cat left the store with her homework last night.  She took home the graduation album to finish and also took home a beehive shaped mini album that she will turn into a fabulous creation using some new beehive/family themed paper we have at the store.  I can't wait to see what she comes up with.

Lots of people have already signed up to come to the Lifestyle Crafts event on Thursday evening.  Are you among those who have signed up?  If not, call the store to reserve your place in what promises to be a fun-filled evening with lots of creativity and prizes.

There is so much going on at the store!  The Lifestyle Crafts Make and Take Evening is next Thursday.  Cat and Valerie have rearranged the store making room for all of the new product that has arrived and is continuing to arrive.
Are you a Texas Ranger fan?  Ray has created these cool die cuts to go on those pages about your outings to the Ranger games.  Lots of photos yet?  Just go to a game, take photos, and then you can scrapbook it!
Look at this sneak peek of an album Cat is designing for all of those hunting photos.  She got the idea for this album while she was in New Mexico with her brother.  While standing in a sporting goods store waiting for her brother, her brain went into overload and came up with this fun album!
Did you see the news?
Were you at the retreat for NSD? Did you see the cool Hidden Hinge Album that Sandy Trefger made? Good News--she will be teaching us how to make this wonderful album at the store on June 22nd. It takes a whole pack of cardstock per person and a roll of 1/4" Scor-Tape!!! This class will be done in 2 parts, the Bare Bones where you will learn to construct the album and make the cover and spine and then the Pimp It Up portion where you will decorate using the My Mind's Eye Up & Away Collection. Our Splitting Hairs class offers you the chance to use your own product for the decoration portion. If you want to make one like Sandy's sample you will stay for the Pimp It Up portion and work on it with her. More info coming as soon as she makes the sample for this one. Due to the complexity of this album and its construction, class size will be limited to 10 people.  Bare Bones Class: $30 (10:30-2:00) Pimp It Up Class Add On: $15 (3:00-5:00) Sign up for both: $40 ($5 discount)  So don't delay....sign up today so that you will be one of the lucky ones making this fabulous album

The storms Wednesday evening left a lot of destruction in their wake and six people in Granbury lost their lives.  Hundreds of homes in that area and Cleburne were destroyed and damaged.  It makes the hail damage that we have here in Mineral Wells seem very minor.   We are very thankful to hear that our scrapping buddies from Granbury are OK.  As far as we know, all of our friends weathered the storms OK.  Our hearts and prayers go out to those who were not so fortunate.

Did you see our SALE ALERT yesterday?  This weekend all Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Easter collections are on sale for 40% off.  Make sure you include a trip to the store in your weekend plans so that you can stock up on these products.

Have you made plans to attend this event next Thursday evening?  Join us for a great evening of fun, prizes, snacks and education with Alan from Lifestyle Crafts. He is bringing a big ole bag of goodies to share with everyone attending. He will do a M&T and have a thank you gift for all that attend. Over $500 in prizes from Lifestyle Crafts will also be given out. Call the store and sign up now as space will be limited. It is FREE from 6-9 Thursday May 23rd.  We all love make and takes, free gifts, and call NOW and reserve your spot!
OK, so we won't be smoking and playing poker, but tomorrow IS the third Saturday crop.  Come spend the day with us and finish up those projects from the National Scrapbook Day retreat or other projects you need to work on.  It is so much fun to spend the day creating with friends.  While you are having fun creating, you can take advantage of the SALE.  I hope you can join us!

Thursday, May 16, 2013

A sale alert has been issued for customers of Cat's Creations Scrapbooks in Mineral Wells, Texas.
LOL....after all of the wild weather last night I thought I would mimic the weather alerts and warnings we were hearing last night.   I hope everyone made it safely through the storms.  If you are like me, you have some hail damage to your vehicle and possibly your roof, but hopefully that is all.  Unfortunately, some of our neighboring towns had tornado damage and possible injuries.
Back to the fun stuff:
Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
May 16-18, 2013.
40% off of all:
Valentine's Day
This Saturday is the Third Saturday Crop at Cat's.  It's a good time to finish up those classes you took at the NSD retreat.  With weddings and graduation time upon us, lots of gift albums to make and lots of photos to scrapbook.  I will be there working on a gift album for a wedding.

Are you ready to be tempted???????
We have lots of new product in the store, so sit back and get ready to drool over this amazing stuff!
How about this beautiful new BoBunny collection for all those Memorial Day and Fourth of July photos?
Some wonderful embellishments to decorate your pages.
Look at this line for those fishing/camping/outdoor photos.  I don't camp or fish, but bought a large quantity of this for outdoorsy photos--it is BEAUTIFUL!
The Key Lime collection from BoBunny is perfect for those tropical/beach photos.  The colors are fantastic and this is the collection that Cat used on the Cruise Ship album class at the NSD retreat.
Here are the coordinating embellishments along with the vintage beach tags from Petaloo that coordinate beautifully.
Crate Paper has come out with some more great lines of paper and have added a really cool "Washi" paper - it is in the lower right hand corner of the photo.  You can cut it into strips and use it like washi tape.  Pictured above is the "Maggie Holmes" signature collection.
These are the embellishments that coordinate with the line.
This is the "DIY Shope" collection.  One of my favorite pieces in this collection is the paper with the wood grain doilies.  FUN!
These are the embellishments for the "DIY Shop" line on the left side of the photo.  In the upper left corner of this photo are some fun overlays for photos that would give your photos a vintage look.  On the right hand side are the "Party Day" embellishments.
This is the "Party Day" collection and it is so much fun!  Look at that paper on the lower left corner--it is recipe cards.  There are so many fun papers in this collection--I think it is probably my favorite birthday collection ever.  The embellishments pictured in the photo with the DIY Shop embellishments.

You still have time to link up your creation using these great sketches.  Link up by 10:00 p.m. tonight for a chance at some blog candy from Cat.
Plan a trip to the store soon to stock up on the wonderful new product collections.  They are very popular and are flying out of the store!
Don't miss out!
