American Crafts "DIY Shop" collection is filled with neutral embellishments to decorate your pages.  So much fun to be had with these fun embellishments.

Just a reminder:
I am sharing sneak peeks of what the
 manufacturers are offering, but this
does not mean they are all going to be ordered for the store.
The store is not big enough to hold EVERYTHING that
is offered, so Cat does her best to order what the majority
of her customers want.
The items that Cat orders will be scheduled out and will
arrive over the next several months.

MARVELOUS MONDAY

Cat had a blast teaching the ladies at Rayline's retreat how to make this "Girls Just Want to have Fun" album on Sunday.
As is always true, everyone puts their own special touch on the project.  Kathy decided to make her album cover a little more voluptuous.
These stamps were the inspiration for this album, along with a brainstorming session with customers.
There is a Copic 101 class in the middle of the class so everyone can learn how to color the stamped images with Copics.   Cat said it got really quiet while everyone was concentrating on their coloring.

Working on the flip flops.
Learning all of the cool techniques that Cat used in this fun album.  I believe this class was a big hit!  Everyone had a great time and went home with an adorable album.

There will be another class for this Girlfriend album this coming Saturday, March 23rd.  If you want to make this album, call the store to see if there is still room.  I know lots of people have signed up, so don't delay.

KinderStampO Design Team Color It Tuesday

I am doing the Color It Tuesday this week and conned Jes into letting me use Brights for the colors so that I could use the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Album I just created for a class at the store.  I had a blast creating this one.  During another class I brought up the request for a girls having fun album and ideas started rolling with the ladies.  Kittie France popped off with a bikini and then it was idea after idea. I couldn't write fast enough to keep up with the ideas.  Challenge: putting all of those ideas into a book for us "older girls". Then the new Girlfriend stamps from Art Impressions came in and the ideas just flew around in my head. Ray cut out the pieces on the laser for me and I started throwing it all together. Here is what came of all the ideas along with the bright, happy paper I picked for this one.

The cover includes the bikini clad girl with the sun and the sand. There are several hidden places in the book for additional pics. This album holds full 4x6 pics as well as smaller ones.  Love adding flip out, fold up albums to the inside so the books can hold so many more pics than you would think.

Love the sun die in the middle of the book with the corrugated glitter paper.  Check out the acrylic margarita glass.

The flip flops open up for more pics.

This class includes a mini Copic class with the Girlfriend Stamps. They were perfect for this album.

This class is set for March 23rd at 2pm.  Cost is $60 which includes the mini-Copic class. We will teach you how to shade and work with the colors for the best effect.  There will be various techniques taught as well in this one from things you would never think about.  Join us for the fun but don't wait toooooo long. This class is over half full now.

SUNDAY INSPIRATION FROM MARDI GRAS MASKED MAYHEM

We all had a wonderful time during the Mardi Gras Masked Mayhem.  You can see everyone's masks in our group shot.  Kourtneigh wowed us all with her beautiful, dramatic mask!
Pam got the most beads by correctly answering the most trivia questions about Mardi Gras.  We all learned a lot about Mardi Gras during this event.
This is one of the two-page layouts we made using some Jenny Bowlin and My Minds Eye papers.  Everyone had so much fun cutting out the hexagons----NOT!  (lol!)
Another two-page layout using Jenny Bowlin papers with some Echo Park paper used for the photo mats.  Everyone learned to make rosettes using the Tim Holtz dies as well as his tip to use tissue tape on the back side to keep it from tearing.
Another of the layouts with more rosettes as well as flourishes, tattered doily, and tattered flowers all using dies from Tim Holtz.  This layout featured My Minds Eye papers.
This layout featured laser cuts by Ray.  He made the corner flourishes and the chipboard word "smile".  The paper used on this layout is by Amy Tangerine.
We all made these cute Valentine bags that Ann designed for us.  They featured laser cut hearts that Ray created using foam core.  These were very popular and several people made more than one for their grandchildren.

We took a break Saturday evening for a Mexican dinner catered by Pulidos, benefiting our friend who is battling cancer.  The food was delicious and we were happy to be able to participate in this benefit by the hospital for Tammy.

At the end of this event, we had created sixteen pages, a gift bag, and learned how to make a folded mini-album.  A very productive and fun-filled weekend.
