TUESDAY TEMPTATIONS AT CAT'S

Look at this beautiful wedding layout Cat created using the new Country Boutique colleciton by Fancy Pants Designs.  She and Ray will be celebrating their 25th anniversary later this year and she is planning to make a facing page with a current photo.
Here's a look at the whole collection.  Look at the sheet with flash cards on it--how much fun to use those on your wedding layouts.  One thing I noticed is that most of this paper is not wedding specific and could be used on anything.  The embellishments and stickers are wedding related, but if you like the papers, you can use them for anything.  Love versatility when purchasing paper.
Look at the fabulous layout that Nanci Holtsford made using some BoBunny papers.  She used primarily papers from the Weekend Market collection with some accents from the Etc. collection (no longer in stock).  She also used some of the vintage double dot paper that is so wonderful to use with your vintage layouts.  I never thought of the Weekend Market collection as western until I saw Nanci's layouts with the horses.  She said that was the first thing she thought of when she saw it.  It is another versatile collection, since with the suitcases and globe it would work for travel and with the card catalog and books it would work for school.

Did you know that August is birthday month at the store?  Cat's will be EIGHT years old!  Check back tomorrow to find out what Cat has planned for this milestone!

There are so many fabulous things to be tempted by at the store.  I hope you are able to stop by and pick up some of these tempting products.

IT'S MARVELOUS MONDAY AT CAT'S

I hope you are having a MARVELOUS MONDAY!!!!

Trisha posted sketch #331 over at Sketch Inspiration.  I hope you will join us in using this sketch to create a layout or card for Cat's 52 week challenge.

Marvelous new products are steadily arriving at the store.  This is the Winterland collection by Moxxie.  Look at that cute snowman and there is a page that has ice cubes on it!  This paper is so pretty and the snowflakes look like lace.
This is the Road to Recovery collection by Moxxie.  This collection will work for anyone who is battling cancer, or actually any illness.  There may be some cancer specific items in this collection but a lot of it would work for any serious illness.

This is the beautiful Forever Family collection by Moxxie.  There are pages that say mother, father, son, daughter, grandmother, grandfather, granddaughter, grandson, brother, and sister.  The colors in this collection are beautiful.  Perfect for some of those family photos you have.

Look what else came in!  Some Salty Ocean, Mowed Lawn, and Picked Raspberry are waiting for you at the store.  These colors are BEAUTIFUL.  If you were waiting for a hot pink/fuschia distress ink, your wait is over.  The blue is such a beautiful shade and the green is such a true green and will also work well with Christmas papers.  I've already picked up my set.  Make sure you don't miss out on these beautiful new distress inks that Mr. Holtz created just for you (and a few other people too!).

Enjoy this Marvelous Monday and check back tomorrow for some Tuesday temptations.

IT'S SUNDAY AND YOU OUGHT TO BE IN PICTURES!

We all know that everyone loves Cat's for the fun and crazy times we have at the store.  Back in February, we had a Murder Mystery Weekend and Cat's customers surprised her by dressing in character.  Each participant was assigned a Bazzill cardstock name and pictured above is "Spoiled Brat Sue"--love that tutu!!!   This was the very best costume of the weekend, but it was so much fun seeing how everyone dressed up.  When everyone arrived, the lights were out and we ate by candlelight:
Cat really knows how to throw a party for her customers.  In addition to this fun, we had a murder victim and a murder to solve:
It took him a while to die since he had to let everyone get their cameras focused --- after all everyone wanted to be able to scrapbook all of the fun.  More photos from this event can be found here.  While we were having a great time, we also made some wonderful projects.  In fact, it was so much fun, everyone that could signed up for "Scrapbook Island" a few months later.
This time we were divided up into teams and had to complete challenges.  The losing team then "cropped" someone off of the island.
While they were working away on their projects, team members discussed how to beat the other team.   More photos from this event can be found here.
All the while, we were completing some fabulous layouts and learning new techniques.  We left with a bunch of completed projects and so many fun memories. One of the things I love about these events is that because it is back to back classes, all you really need to bring is your basic tools, unless Cat lets you know of a special requirement.

On October 26-27, Cat is holding another one of these project/class packed events.  It is going to be called "You Ought To Be In Pictures" --sounds like Hollywood glamour to me.  It will be interesting to see everyone dress up for this one.  This one is still in the planning stages, so no price has been set.  I know I'm planning to attend the one in October and I hope you will join me.

IT'S CAT-TASTIC!

I used random.org to get the winners for WOW Wednesday.  For the participants, the winner was #1, Chasity Wilbur and for the commenters it was lucky #13, Sandy Trefger.  Ladies, please contact Cat at the store for your winnings!
The new products that Cat ordered at the CHA show have started arriving at the store.  Get ready to scrapbook all of those sport photos you have taken and will take this school year.  Scrappin Sports has this fabulous new line of sport paper to fill all of your scrapping needs.  There is the cheerleading paper that you see above and then all of these:

There are gymnastics, workout, tennis, swimming, wrestling, tee-ball, prom, dance, hockey, fishing, trampoline/swing, tap/ballet, softball, baseball, football, soccer, basketball and more.  I think just about everything is covered and there is probably something for everyone in this line of paper.

If your child is in band, we also have papers for this.  Moxxie's  new line is absolutely beautiful and has papers for many of the different instruments in band.   It is also beautiful to use for scrapbooking those concerts you have attended!
Have you joined the mixed media craze?  Or do you have or are curious about the Tim Holtz stains, perfect pearls, mists, distress inks, paint dabbers, alcohol inks, or crackle paints?  Or maybe you wonder about the new Faber Castill markers and gelatos.  If so, it is Paint It, Stain It, Color It day at Cat's on August 25th where you will have the chance to learn how to use all of the different coloring mediums for sale at the store.   I hope you will join me in learning about these fabulous products.

Come back tomorrow to learn about another fun event that Cat has planned for us!  I hope you have a Cat-tastic weekend.

FEATURE FRIDAY

Today we are featuring Ann Laughlin:
Ann and her husband Jim live up at Possum Kingdom Lake.  Although the fires last year got close and they were evacuated, their home was spared.  Very scary times and we are all so thankful that this summer has not been nearly as dry.  Ann is very family oriented and does so many things with her family.  Ann is an amazing scrapbooker and makes beautiful pages documenting the fun times with her family.

These are two layouts Ann did using one of my very favorite collections by My Minds Eye and feature her precious granddaughter, Lola.  Ann is great at incorporating brochures and other ephemera onto her pages.  These pages are absolutely amazing!

This is a layout Ann did using photos from the NSD retreat.  The hinge on the top two photos works and there are more photos underneath.  AMAZING!

Ann loved the mini album that Nanci made using the TidePool collection by KaiserCraft so much that Nanci helped her make one just like it.  Love the face painting on the top photo--adorable!

Check back tomorrow to see some of the new things have arrived at the store this week.

THANKFUL THURSDAY

It is Thankful Thursday, what are you thankful for?  I know lots of you have been really thankful for this great sale that Cat is running right now.   I took advantage of this sale and stocked up on all things Tim Holtz!  Because we are so very thankful for our blog readers, the sale just got better.

Today is the last day of the big sale
All holiday papers and embellishments are 50% off, but blog readers get an extra 5% off by showing the blog on their phone or giving the code CHA5.  That means you get a whopping 55% off of your holiday goodies.  Things that have been in the store for 6 months or longer are 35% off, but blog readers will get...you guessed it...an extra 5% off, which makes it a total of 40% off!   This includes the Tim Holtz wall, other than the newest items.  New arrivals to the store are not eligible for these big discounts.

While you are at the store taking advantage of the sale items, you can also pick up the Tim Holtz summer seasonal distress inks that arrived earlier this week.  They aren't on sale, but since you are saving so much on everything else you'll have money left for these beauties.

The store is open until 8:00 p.m. tonight, so you have plenty of time to pick up any items you can't live without.

On Tuesday, I told you that Cat was working on some layouts using the new Moxxie collections.  This is the layout she made using their "Unbirthday" collection.  Those colors go perfectly with the colors we have at the store.

This is a layout she did using their new "Road to Recovery" collection, featuring a photo of Patrice, who is a constant source of inspiration to us all.

Just a reminder that you can still link up your creations to the WOW Wednesday post and comment on everyone else's creations.  There will be some blog candy given to a random participant and a random commentor chosen by random.org.  Someone will win and it might as well be YOU!

TEMPTING TUESDAY

This is Valerie's layout using Sketch 329.  Love how the colors in the paper go so well with the plaid of Doyle's shirt.  Such a sweet layout and priceless memory of Doyle dancing with his little "Peanut".  If you don't recognize this paper, it is because it is not in the store yet.  It is some of Echo Park's "For the Record 2" collection, which will arrive in the store soon.  So, enjoy this sneak peek of what is coming soon to Cat's.

New product is already arriving....Moxxie's fabulous new product lines arrived in the store Monday.  They have a beautiful line for pages featuring your family called Forever Family.  There is an adorable birthday line called Very Merry Unbirthday featuring some very bright and cheerful colors.   Do you need band paper?  Moxxie to the rescue with a beautiful band/symphony line called Musically Inclined using the colors of teal and brown--fabulousness!!!   They have  a very soft and pretty snow line called Winterland with light blues and pale purples.  If you have a loved one who is battling cancer, they have a beautiful line of paper called Road to Recovery and it is appropriate for any type of cancer since it is NOT pink.  It has some beautiful quotes and is very inspirational.  Cat has been working on some layouts using all of this beautiful paper, so stay tuned for those.

I wanted to share some more customer layouts with you, this time using Sketch #315
Banners are all the rage and I thought this sketch was a lot of fun, yet challenging.

This is Becky Blann's Easter layout.  I love the buttons she used as accents on the banner.  Such a cute layout!

Pam Conover also did an Easter layout, yet it is very different from Becky's.  I love the grass along the bottom of her layout and the Easter stickers she used as accents on her banner.

Allison Graves made a card using this sketch.  Love the simplicity of this card.  So very cute!

Chasity Wilbur used some Simple Stories papers to make a wonderful birthday layout.  Love all of the polka dots on this fun layout!
I hope you enjoyed these inspirational layouts and are inspired to used the sketches from Sketch Inspiration to create some lovely layouts for your scrapbooks.

Don't forget the big sale is still on at Cat's - 35% off of anything that has been in the store for 6 months or more and 50% off of all holiday paper lines.  Don't delay....

MARVELOUS MONDAY AT CAT'S

If it's Monday, that means there's another sketch on Sketch Inspiration.  Trish posted Sketch 330 yesterday:

I love using these sketches when scrapbooking.  She has a wonderful prize up for grabs this week.  Just post your creation on the website by Saturday midnight for a chance to win.
The Authentique "Lively" collection arrived in the store a few days ago.  It is a bright and cheery collection
on that wonderfully textured Authentique paper.
The same day, the Festive collection arrived.  So very beautiful.  Look what Valerie made using some of this collection:
We made tissue box covers for the Big Girl Color Club (copic markers) on Thursday night.  The big flower is a stamp by Stampendous and the tutorial for the tissue box cover came from Splitcoast Stampers.  We stamped the flower image on cardstock, applied a sheet of Scor-Tape, then sprinkled Opaque Glitter by Glitter Ritz, burnished the glitter into the adhesive, and then colored the image with the copic markers.  I love that she made a Christmas tissue box cover using the beautiful new Festive collection.  I think it turned out beautifully!

More new products are on the way.  Looking forward to seeing each and every one of them.

SUNDAY INSPIRATION, NEWS, AND WOW WINNERS

Cat came back from the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) show full of ideas.  Nanci is at the beach in North Carolina, but they are collaborating on ideas long distance.  So, start saving your money now because you know they are going to come up with some AMAZING classes for us.  And, in addition to all of the wonderful classes, we will be inundated with fabulous new product to purchase.  I have it on good authority that some of the new product will be here next week......  I can't wait to see all of the new goodies as they arrive and am anxious to see what Cat and Nanci dream up for us.

Speaking of new product, how many of you have purchased products that you haven't used because you don't remember how?   August 25th, from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Cat is planning a class called "Paint It, Stain It, Color It" to teach us how to use those stains, paints, pens, and other products that were "must haves" but are now "not used" items.  I know I'm planning attending this class since I have quite a few products that are never or seldom used (shhhh don't tell anyone).
Have you been playing along with the Sketch Inspiration challenge to use the sketches each week so that at the end of the year you have 52 layouts/cards completed?   This is Sketch 321 and I want to share with you some layouts made by various customers so you can see how different they are even though everyone used the same sketch.
This is Becky Blann's creation using Sketch #321.  She used the planet as the circle element--love that.  I love the rocket above the photos.  Such a cute layout.

This is Chasity Wilbur's version of the sketch.  She used the baseball as the circle element.  Love how she did this layout--fabulousness!

This is Sandy Trefger's layout for Sketch #321.  She used jack-o-lanterns for the circle elements in the sketch.  Her family has a big Halloween party every year so Sandy has lots of cool Halloween photos to scrapbook every year.
Wanda Green did lots of distressing on her creation for Sketch #321.  Love all the crumpled paper--fun layout!

As you can see, these layouts are all very different, but based on the same sketch.  I hope this will encourage you to use the sketches of Sketch Inspiration as a jumping off point to help you get your pages going.  Sometimes they are just the little "kick" of inspiration you need to get started.
I apologize for not announcing the winners from WOW Wednesday yesterday.  This is new to me and I forgot!  So, without further ado, I used random.org to pick the winners.  The winner of the participants was Valerie Light and the winning commentor was #7 from Valerie's blog--Allison Graves.  Just a reminder that I took out my comments and any duplicate commentors from the count for the winning comments.  Congratulations, ladies, and please contact Cat at the store for your prize package.

Did you make it to the store this weekend for the big sale?  If not, don't despair.  It is going on through Thursday, and we are open until 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays.  Remember, 35% off of anything that has been in the store for more than six months and 50% off of the holiday things.  Time to stock up now.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and hope to see you at the store!
