New Name, New Look, More FUN!

By now you know the store is no more.  Lots of things in life change on a dime and you must be able to adapt with those changes. Those that know me know I look for Plan B & roll with the flow.  That Flow has led me into continuing with our awesome Retreats 4 times a year at Mitchell Resort & RV Park.  These are always crazy good fun round the clock. Dates for the next two retreats are: Sept 15-18 & Nov 3-6. Click here for our facebook page for all the info.

And That Flow has led me to hosting monthly Crops at Mitchell's. These crops have turned into some WonDerFul Saturdays with old friends & new friends coming together and creating everything from scrapbook layouts to Junktique repurposing of crazy finds.  We all share a dish or two and we eat some. really. good. cooking. the. entire. time! You really should join us. The masses have continued to ask for Classes so I shall provide. We always offer classes at our NSD CatVention in May and now we will add classes to the mix periodically throughout the year. We have two fantastic classes coming up in the next few months.  

Nanci is coming back with her famous Tag-a-Palooza class on June 25th with an event at Rayline's Retreat in Springtown. We have done classes here before and it is a lovely retreat venue for smaller groups. It will be purrrfect for our classes. The tag class is from 1pm - 6pm. Snacks, sweets, tea & water provided. Nanci will teach you some awesome techniques to complete 3 beautiful Christmas themed tags.  She will then turn you loose with blank tags for you to create on your own using the techniques you learned.  You will come away with 6 tags. All the info is listed on the Facebook page under Events. You must be pre-registered and pre-paid for all classes.

I will be doing a mighty mini album class, Cheerful Family Album, on July 16th at Rayline's Retreat in Springtown. This little album I designed for myself to house all my "extra" pics since I take waaaaay toooooo many!  I always had so many left over after making layouts.  When everyone saw it at NSD they all yelled Class! Class! Class! So, it is now a class. An all day class with lots of techniques to be learned. I took several techniques I learned from Lance Anderson and put them on steroids to come up with this one. He was even shocked in May! It is full of all kinds of places to put pics. I have 83 pics in there now and it can hold more! How fun will this class be?  Lite lunch, snacks, sweets, tea & water provided. All the info is listed on the Facebook page under Events. You must be pre-registered and pre-paid for all classes.

I am on a new venture with my creative, creative self this year. I hope you will join in on the FUN!

We inked, embossed,

stenciled, and "stickled". 

Check out how beautiful this holly is,

especially after you add FOUR

colors of stickles!

I don't have the patience for stickles

since I usually end up messing them up

while waiting for them to dry!

However, Nanci's use of them on the

tags Saturday convinced me to 

buy 12 more bottles of them. YIKES!!!

She is making a believer out of me!

Our "newbie" enjoyed the class

so much that she is looking forward

to the next one!

 

How can you not enjoy a class when you are creating

tags like this?!

 

We created two tags that 

could be used for greeting cards.

Even the envelopes were included!

Nanci has started using a chalkboard

to list the colors of ink that we are using

on our tag.

Yes, we ask that question OVER and OVER again!

above the "Beware" sign,

she has displayed the two tags we are working on.

 

The next tag class is

NOVEMBER 21st.

The date is changed due to the retreat.

Nanci has to make kits of each tag

for every attendee, so she needs

to know ahead of time if you are coming.

 The cost is $40 and you will

make 5 tags.

A light snack is provided and the class

lasts from 11:00 am to 4:00 p.m.

It's a lot of fun and

a great way to spend the evening.

We learn about new techniques and products

that work on the very thin paper

Bibles are printed on.

Some are using old hymnals to

journal about the Bible verses.

It doesn't matter.

The point is to illustrate what a verse

means to you.

an inspiring evening of 

Bible Journaling.

We usually have the tag class

prior to the journaling class,

but Nanci has a staff development to

do for school.

scrapbooking or just journaling in your Bible.

These fun shutters have endless possibilities. 

We will provide the shutter, the NOTES letters, paints, & chalkboard vinyl.

 (Metal and chicken wire available for purchase for those that want to go that route.)

 Feel free to bring ephemera of your own to add to your project. 

 We will show you a crackle technique on painting the wood 

as well as show you how to use your alcohol inks on the metal if you choose to use it. 

You get to make it your own to suit your decor.

 It will be a fun class for sure & look what you will get to showcase at home.

The NOTES board as shown is just one way to use these fun shutters.

 You could also paint and/or cover the shutters with papers 

and then make a standing photo frame using both sides. 

Just another idea for you to think about for this class.

You never know what will happen at a crop.

Lucky for those who are taking Nanci's tag class!

If you haven't taken one of these fabulous

Due to popular demand,

Cat is offering you a chance to create your own 

individual window masterpiece.

Bring your window

 (they can be purchased from Mark Witschorke downtown if you don't already have one) 

and we will decorate it.

 Cat will get the chipboard letters from Lance Anderson 

for your kits that were used in the class at the retreat.  

Decide on your theme and get your pics together

 so you will know what direction to head . 

 Cat will have a supply kit filled with goodies for each of you to add to your windows. 

 Bring any keepsakes or other ephemera you want to add. 

Cat will also have a variety of colors of paint to be used on letters, etc.

We will start at 10:30 and roll thru the day until 5pm

Then we have an album class on April 25 using the new Authentique.  

Beautiful Life is a great album to showcase

 those special reasons and events of your Beautiful Life.

WE "HEART" THIS TAG!

 

Check out this beautiful tag/card that Nanci created for

our tag class on Saturday.

She used her favorite BoBunny vintage double dot paper

for the tag holder.

Cupid was die cut, using a Tim Holtz die by Sizzix, from Bazzill cardstock.

We used our Tim Holtz stencils and Distress Inks on each of the

tags that we created in our tag class Saturday.

Check it out as you open up this amazing creation!

Everyone enjoyed learning how to make the tag holder

AND the beautiful tag.

Nanci used her Tiny Attacher to show us that staples can really

become a design element.

She made them into little x's that look kind of like cross stitches.

LOVE the verse on the tag.

Nanci used one of Tim Holtz's stamps by Stamper's Anonymous,

which Cat has in stock at the store.

 

Our new class attendee, Misty, used the bonus arrows

that Nanci gave us to add some fun to her tag/card.

LOVE how her creation turned out!
