WE "HEART" THIS TAG!

Check out this beautiful tag/card that Nanci created for
our tag class on Saturday.
She used her favorite BoBunny vintage double dot paper
for the tag holder.
Cupid was die cut, using a Tim Holtz die by Sizzix, from Bazzill cardstock.
We used our Tim Holtz stencils and Distress Inks on each of the
tags that we created in our tag class Saturday.
Check it out as you open up this amazing creation!

The beautiful tag that went into the tag holder.
Everyone enjoyed learning how to make the tag holder
AND the beautiful tag.
Nanci used her Tiny Attacher to show us that staples can really
become a design element.
She made them into little x's that look kind of like cross stitches.
LOVE the verse on the tag.
Nanci used one of Tim Holtz's stamps by Stamper's Anonymous,
which Cat has in stock at the store.
Our new class attendee, Misty, used the bonus arrows
that Nanci gave us to add some fun to her tag/card.
LOVE how her creation turned out!

The next tag class will be on March 14th.
We are always learning new techniques.
Don't miss out on all of the fun!
Call and reserve your place at the next tag class.
You won't be sorry!

NEW AUTHENTIQUE IS IN THE HOUSE...

We have two new collections from Authentique in stock.

This is "Lucky", which is a St. Patrick's day collection.
I created this layout to show that it doesn't
just have to be for St. Patrick's Day.
Cat added the bling and pictures to the layout.
This layout is all about being lucky in friendship!

Cat found some wonderful photos depicting the fun
she and Sharon have together.
Cat created this layout from the "Crush" collection.
I love all of the writing on this paper.
Again, this collection is for Valentine's Day, but
this layout shows that you can use it for much more than that.

Check out these two new collections at the store.
They are beautiful and very versatile.

TEMPTING TUESDAY

Adornit has come out with their Blender Basics that are color matched to all of their collections. There are 36 papers total. Each of the 12 colors has 3 double sided papers from dots to stripes to brocade. Wonderful additions to your layouts.
More of the beautiful Blender Basics.  I know that Patrice and Nanci stocked up on the Disney colors for their Disney albums.
These are so much fun and add texture to your layout without adding bulk.
The brocade is so delicate it looks like lace!
I have a feeling these are going to be popular!
Bazzill has brought back their popular flowers in limited colors.
StazOn ink is now available in these new "midi" sizes.
Plus, these are all new colors!
Remember....
If you are stamping on something non-porous,
(glass, metal, transparencies, photo paper, vellum)
StazOn will do it without having to be heat-set.

Come by the store and pick up some of these fabulous products!

ONE MONTH UNTIL NSD....

A new month means new prompts for those participating in the photo a day challenge.  These are the prompts for April.

Plus, if it is April 1st, that means we are one month away from the
NSD CAT-VENTION!!!!
Can you believe it is only one month away????!!!!
NO FOOLING!!!
EXCITING!!!
Only one month until we get to take some classes from our friends,
Lance Anderson and Joey Otlo.
They are an NSD tradition and we always look forward to their fun classes.

This canvas album class will be included in your fee.   This is what Lance had to say about this class:  "Make a book from Scratch. You will learn to bind a book using chipboard, canvas and bookbinding string. We will "Sew" the pages into the spine teaching you how to easily create a book with a spine and binding. The outside of this book is chipboard covered with paper and Canvas over the spine. This is REAL BOOK BINDING and YOU CAN DO IT. Fast and easy. We are using the newest line of paper from Echo Park. You will be embellishing this album to customize it for your pictures. Join me for a few hours of fun and learning."  Sure to be a class to remember (and then make another on your own).  Lance's classes are always lots of fun and VERY educational!

This is the TREASURE Class that Lance Anderson will be teaching as an additional class at our NSD CatVention. Class is $45. I really like this one. Here is what Lance said about his class:
"Find your “Treasure of the Heart”... In this trendy pink and chocolate brown album loaded with pockets, hearts and tags. Shabby chic unique pages are filled with punched out hearts, adorned half pages, tags, ribbons and words of love! Creative fun album dedicated to the ones you love! 5X7 mini album. I have also added beeswax to this class to make it even more rustic and just awesome."

Joey Otlo from Bazzill will be teaching two extra classes this time at our NSD CatVention. Cost of each additional class is $38.  This is the Vintage Lace Album.

This is additional class #2 from Joey Otlo of Bazzill. This class costs $38 also. Going to reserve me a kit for this one too. Here is what Joey said about the two classes and supplies:
Each class uses the same tools so if they take both classes, they can bring the same tool kit.
12” trimmer
Corner rounder
Bone folder/scoring tool
Scissors
¼” supertape or red line tape
Glue dots
Crop-a-dile (they can share with friends)
Brown Ink Optional

Your class with Joey that is included in your fee is a class filled with wonderful layouts.  Joey's layouts are lots of fun to make and her classes are F.U.N.!

So make your decision about which additional classes you want to take because
April 12th is the last day to sign up for the additional classes.  It takes time to make the kits for the classes, so we have to have a deadline a couple of weeks before the retreat.

ONLY ONE MONTH AWAY....
HOORAY!!!!!

MEMORIES FROM OUR CROP AROUND THE CLOCK EVENT

Thanks to my computer guru son, my computer is working again.  For some unknown reason, the synaptic pad (mouse on a laptop) has quit working.  So, I thought my computer was freezing and it was only the fact that the mouse wasn't working.  WHEW!  Easy, inexpensive fix - just get a regular mouse and use it!  YEAH!!!!!
The second day of our "Cropping Around the Clock" began with me teaching this layout featuring Bazzill cardstock and Little Yellow Bicycle paper.
Then Nanci taught a tag class to all of the attendees.  Some of us take Nanci's tag classes every month, but to others this was a new experience.
Everyone loved the beautiful colors she used on this tag.
Nanci quickly created the tag....
it took us all a LOT longer to create our tags!  LOL!
Cat got to create one of the tags - isn't it beautiful!!!
After another layout class, Cat taught everyone some mixed media techniques using the "Creative Palette" by Stampendous.  Check out those bright colors!
She showed us how to use a paper towel with the Creative Palette and then use it on our project.
Vickie and Patrice were having a great time chair dancing to the music!
Kourtneigh arrived Saturday all decked out in a poodle skirt she made for our "Crop around the Clock" event.
She even came up with a new use for the 45's that Patrice gave us.  LOVE that pony tail holder!
Patrice arrived on Saturday wearing this cool jacket of her son's.  LOVE it!
Everyone enjoyed the root beer/coke floats.  Brought back lots of memories.  It had been years since many of us had enjoyed one of these frozen treats.
We all had a fantastic time and look forward to the next 2 day event!

CROPPING AROUND THE CLOCK

Instead of rocking around the clock as the song goes, we are going to "Crop around the clock" on March 21-22nd.  Love that song and love to crop?   Sing along as we sneak peeks at the projects we will create during this fun, "around the clock" event.
One, Two, Three O'clock, Four O'clock CROP,

Five, Six, Seven O'clock, Eight O'clock CROP.
Nine, Ten, Eleven O'clock, Twelve O'clock CROP,
We're gonna CROP around the clock tonight.
(until midnight on March 21st)
Put your glad rags on and join us,
We'll have some fun when the clock strikes seven.
We're gonna CROP around the clock tonight,
We're gonna CROP, CROP, CROP, 'till broad daylight,
We're gonna CROP, we're gonna CROP around the clock tonight.
When the clock strikes two, three and four,
If the CREATIVITY slows down we'll yell for more.
When the chimes
ring five, six, and seven,
We'll be right in seventh heaven.
When it's eight, nine, ten, eleven too,
I'll be going strong and so will you.
When the clock strikes twelve we'll cool off then,

Start CROPPIN' 'round the clock again.
until 8:00 pm on Saturday, March 22nd.

Call the store now (940)327-0713 to reserve your spot for a cropping good time
from 7:00 pm til midnight March 21st
and from 10:00 am til 8:00 pm  March 22nd.
The cost is $60 and you will create 6 pages with the option to purchase the materials for the 2nd page of the layout.  In addition to the six pages, Nanci will teach you how to create one of her fabulous tags and Cat will lead you in some mixed media fun.

SUNDAY INSPIRATION

We are always inspired by Cat's creativity and this mini album is no exception.  Cat made this album using the "piano hinge" technique that she taught at the September retreat.  The paper collection she used for this album is "Happy Haunting" by Carta Bella.  There are lots of textural accents of burlap in the album, which adds a lot of visual interest. By gluing some of the pages together, Cat created pockets in which she could put tags which then hold even more photos!  I know that one of the things that used to prevent me from making mini albums was their limited capacity.  However, we have since learned so many techniques (cascades, accordians, pockets) where we can add more photos that it is no longer a problem.  If a mini album doesn't hold as many photos as we need, we can always add one of those techniques and increase its capacity by as much as we need!  LOVE that!
Page 1 of the album, complete with its own warning!  LOL!
The next two pages of the album - love this paper collection!  The page on the right is one of the pages that Cat glued together to make a pocket.
The next two pages - loving the burlap accents!
Don't you love the notch cut out of the pocket on this one?!  Plus, Cat "free-handed" the branches that the owl (sticker) is sitting on.
The next two pages with more tags.
More lovely pages - I love how the "dotted swiss" cardstock by Bazzill adds a touch of texture to your pages!
Another pocket on a page, which gives you room for extra photos.  Love the burlap fringe decorating the pocket!
And the back cover of this cute mini album.  I'm not sure how many photos it holds, but it holds quite a few spooky pictures.
Come by the store and pick up your favorite Halloween collection so that you can make one of these cute mini albums.
