CROPPING OUT JUVENILE DIABETES

Saturday, it was all about
Cropping out Juvenile Diabetes.
While we had creative fun,
we also raise money for this worthy cause.

There were bags full of goodies for us
to purchase tickets for chances to win.
Cat, Vickie, and two Sharons went to
Mark Witschorke's  Antique store before
Cat's opened and picked up some things to alter.

This window/shelf is one
that Sharon Leonard purchased to alter
for Christmas.
The finished product will look great on her
walls during the holidays.
 Cat altered this picture frame
for the Christmas holidays.
The candy striped rods were also purchased
at Mark's.

This picture frame is another one that
Sharon Leonard altered.
Very elegant!

We had lots of fun creating on Saturday
while cropping for a great cause.
Plus we won same great prizes!

CROPPING OUT JUVENILE DIABETES

Cat's long time friend's 2 year old grandson
was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes about 6 months ago.
This child has stolen Cat's heart as he is so much like
his grandmother was when they were kids.
He is always smiling and happy and so full of joy.
Cat also discovered that our favorite vendor, Authentique,
was also recently connected to this not so nice disease.
 Bret Cornell's beautiful daughter, Maddi,
has also been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
She is learning, at an older age,
how to rearrange her lifestyle to accommodate Type 1.
Dad says she has been quite the trooper herself showing
the family true courage at such a young age.

Our crop this Saturday, October 3rd,
will be a benefit crop
to raise money to help
find a cure for
Juvenile Diabetes.
There will be all kinds of fun goodies for you to bid on during the silent auction.
The monies raised in the silent auction
and all of the crop fees will go
towards finding a cure for this disease
that attacks our little ones.

There are a few spots available if you
would like to join us for a day of cropping fun
while we raise money for this worthy cause.

MOONLIT MADNESS!!!

Cat got into the "Moonlit" collection from Authentique
and has created some fabulous layouts for
the Costume Crop on Halloween.
Love the cut out webbing across the top of this layout.
These will look great with photos
of everyone in their costumes.
I love how she has the photos angled
over the photo mats.

Another layout from the Monnlit collection.
LOVE how she tied the strings around the
circle elements.  FUN!
The ghost walk photos will
look fabulous on these layouts!
BOO!!!

CROPPING OUT TYPE 1 DIABETES!!!

Saturday,
October 3rd,
will be the

BENEFIT CROP FOR
THOMAS TROOPERS!

Pictured above is the two year old grandson of Cat's long time friend.
He was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes about 6 months ago.
This child has stolen Cat's heart as he is so much
like his grandmother was when they were kids.
He is always smiling and happy and so full of joy.
The family is doing a walk in San Antonio on October 18
to raise money and awareness about Type 1 Diabetes.
Our October 3rd crop will be a total Benefit Crop.
Cat's will donate crop fee money to the foundation under Thomas Troopers.
We will also have all kinds of fun goodies for you to bid
on with all of those funds going to the foundation as well.
It will be a crop for a good cause.

Before Cat could post this info to Facebook,
she discovered that our favorite vendor, Authentique,
was also recently connected to this not so nice disease.
 Bret Cornell's beautiful daughter, Maddi,
has also been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
We will also be doing this Benefit in her name as well
as she learns at an older age how to rearrange her lifestyle to accommodate Type 1.
Dad says she has been quite the trooper herself showing
the family true courage at such a young age.

Join us for 12 hours of some great fun and scrapping as
we give our hearts and money to help eradicate this
disease for all the other youngsters out there.

ELEVENTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION CROP

It's been 11 years since Cat's opened
and we have been celebrating all month
with endless classes,
 2-day crops,
and guest designer Ken Oliver teaching.
Thanks to all of you that have supported us
 through the years
and that continue to support us.
Without YOU, this crazy venture would not have happened.
We hope to be around until Cat is too darn old to keep up the pace!
This past Saturday/Sunday we
had a full house for the Anniversary crop.
Glenda was busy working on her make and take.
Later on, she got busy with her Cricut and
made us a sign for the back door that most of us use.
Happy Anniversary to the store!!!!
Julie, Pam, and Valerie were watching as Cat
demonstrated how to create the make and take.
Everyone had fun using the
Art Anthology stencils, inks, and mediums
to create their make and takes!
Taqueria la Estrella was THE place to eat!
Some of us had lunch AND dinner from there!
Free margaritas made it very popular for dinner.
Their street tacos have been popular at
the store for quite some time.
All of their food is delicious.
What can you do with a specimen slide holder?
We decided to find out with a contest.
 Some thought we were nuts,
others took the challenge and ran with it.

Sharon made a really cute tribute to her grandmother complete with a pic.
Gloria did her waiting for Santa in pinks and beiges. Too cute.

Julie took her's to Paris.

Pam's adorable mini frame of her daughter.
 Nanci judged the entries and
Pam was our winner with her adorable tribute to her daughter.

A fabulous time was had by all.
Looking forward to the next
11 years!!!

I'M HUNGRY........

I'm hungry.....
where do you want to eat?
This is a common refrain during crops
and classes at the store.
One of the favorite places to eat is
This is THE place for  great burger!
You can call ahead and drive through so
you don't lose any valuable crop time!
Here you get a real home made burger, fries
(sweet potato ones if you want) and drink for one price.
Best thing--those hamburger patties are all done by hand.
None of that pre-packaged hamburger patty stuff to be found here.

Dairy Mart is an older building with lots of charm as you can see by all the old signs.

They also have the best darn club sandwich EVER!
This is a picture of it with some sweet potato fries.
Not to mention shrimp baskets, tacos, chicken strip baskets, etc. etc. etc.

You see--it is like going back to your child hood here and the food is AWESOME!
This is a staple for the out of towners that come to crop & take classes.
If you are one of the few that have not tried this place--
best get with the program cause you are missing out big time!
So, are you sufficiently hungry?
Sounds like you need to go to
DAIRY MART!!!
