New Name, New Look, More FUN!

By now you know the store is no more.  Lots of things in life change on a dime and you must be able to adapt with those changes. Those that know me know I look for Plan B & roll with the flow.  That Flow has led me into continuing with our awesome Retreats 4 times a year at Mitchell Resort & RV Park.  These are always crazy good fun round the clock. Dates for the next two retreats are: Sept 15-18 & Nov 3-6. Click here for our facebook page for all the info.

And That Flow has led me to hosting monthly Crops at Mitchell's. These crops have turned into some WonDerFul Saturdays with old friends & new friends coming together and creating everything from scrapbook layouts to Junktique repurposing of crazy finds.  We all share a dish or two and we eat some. really. good. cooking. the. entire. time! You really should join us. Here are the dates for upcoming crops: July 9th, August 20th, none in September due to retreat, Oct 1, none in Nov due to retreat, and Dec 3.  Get your name on our list today on the Facebook page or email me at catbeaty@sbcglobal.net.

The masses have continued to ask for Classes so I shall provide. We always offer classes at our NSD CatVention in May and now we will add classes to the mix periodically throughout the year. We have two fantastic classes coming up in the next few months.  

Nanci is coming back with her famous Tag-a-Palooza class on June 25th with an event at Rayline's Retreat in Springtown. We have done classes here before and it is a lovely retreat venue for smaller groups. It will be purrrfect for our classes. The tag class is from 1pm - 6pm. Snacks, sweets, tea & water provided. Nanci will teach you some awesome techniques to complete 3 beautiful Christmas themed tags.  She will then turn you loose with blank tags for you to create on your own using the techniques you learned.  You will come away with 6 tags. All the info is listed on the Facebook page under Events. You must be pre-registered and pre-paid for all classes.

I will be doing a mighty mini album class, Cheerful Family Album, on July 16th at Rayline's Retreat in Springtown. This little album I designed for myself to house all my "extra" pics since I take waaaaay toooooo many!  I always had so many left over after making layouts.  When everyone saw it at NSD they all yelled Class! Class! Class! So, it is now a class. An all day class with lots of techniques to be learned. I took several techniques I learned from Lance Anderson and put them on steroids to come up with this one. He was even shocked in May! It is full of all kinds of places to put pics. I have 83 pics in there now and it can hold more! How fun will this class be?  Lite lunch, snacks, sweets, tea & water provided. All the info is listed on the Facebook page under Events. You must be pre-registered and pre-paid for all classes.

FUN NOVEMBER CLASSES

 

Who doesn't want an adorable sign hanging in their 

home craft studio or on their studio door? 

 This one is purrrrfect for anyone's studio. 

You will be able to choose your own colors to match your studio. 

We will be creating with the round gelly plate from Stampendous,

 Tim Holtz stencils, burlap, & chipboard.

 Canvas, 5x7 photo, ribbon, chipboard and all paints supplied.

 Just bring in your brushes or pencils or anything

 you would like to add to your canvas to make it yours.
This class will be Saturday, Nov 28, at 10:00 a.m.

Cost: $25

 Please bring paint brushes, brayer,

 palate knife, & basic tool kit to class

 along with special items you want to put on your canvas.

 All other supplies are provided.

 

Make a day of it and stay for this class at 

2:00 p.m. on the same day. 

 Make this cute canvas full of fun techniques using stamp blocks, 

paints, stamps, & stickles. 

It will be a great addition to your Christmas decor or a great gift.

LET'S COLOR AGAIN!

AdornIt has also created some coloring pages.

This time they are on watercolor paper.

So, you can use your distress markers,

 watercolors, watercolor pencils

or Ken Oliver Color Bursts on them.

Lots of options with these.

In addition, they created several

different pages that you can cut the images

out and create greeting cards with them.

More fabulous greeting card options.

The last of the small images that would

be great for greeting cards.

You could also use these on art journal pages

and other options.

Large images that would be fun to 

use in your art journal or a mini album.

Love the sayings on these pages.

They are very thought provoking.

The "hope" would be great to use

for bible journaling.

enjoy coloring.

class.

What is Junkspiration?

It is when you turn "junk" into art!

 

Cat gave us the kits and

turned us loose with 

a few instructions.

 

Nanci speedily got her shutters painted

and ready for the next step.

She is going to use hers standing up like this.

Love her chalkboard art

with the Marvy Uchida bistro chalk markers!

 

LaRue created this beauty.

Love how she did the Tim Holtz alcohol inks on the metal!

She used some great chunky twine on her letters.

LOVED how she put the knob in the middle of the "o".
 

This is Steph's and she is adding some ribbon.
Steph also used a couple of Canvas Corp's
burlap flowers in coordinating colors
to embellish her project.

Obviously, I'm going to

use it in the kitchen!
I used a cow and chicken
from Ray's Lazer and he is
working on the rooster for me!

We all had a blast and

most of us were anxious for

Ken Oliver's class on Sunday.

TIM HOLTZ PORTFOLIO

Katina attended the crop on Saturday and

had not scrapbooked in TWO YEARS!!!

You would never know by looking at the fabulous job

she did on the Tim Holtz portfolio she "pimped out".

We all fell in love with the button heart she

created on the front of the portfolio.

She used a wonderful combination of products on 

the portfolio.

LOVE those!

She combined Kaisercraft's "Mix and Match"

with My Minds Eye "Lost and Found"

collections beautifully on this portfolio.

 

We certainly hope that it isn't another two

years before Katina is able to scrapbook again.

We all had a wonderful time on Saturday and

were glad that everyone made it home before the

storms hit!

WE "HEART" THIS TAG!

 

Check out this beautiful tag/card that Nanci created for

our tag class on Saturday.

She used her favorite BoBunny vintage double dot paper

for the tag holder.

Cupid was die cut, using a Tim Holtz die by Sizzix, from Bazzill cardstock.

We used our Tim Holtz stencils and Distress Inks on each of the

tags that we created in our tag class Saturday.

Check it out as you open up this amazing creation!

AND the beautiful tag.

Nanci used her Tiny Attacher to show us that staples can really

become a design element.

She made them into little x's that look kind of like cross stitches.

Nanci used one of Tim Holtz's stamps by Stamper's Anonymous,

which Cat has in stock at the store.

 

Our new class attendee, Misty, used the bonus arrows

that Nanci gave us to add some fun to her tag/card.

LOVE how her creation turned out!
