IT'S CATURDAY

So, what do you have planned this weekend?

 

A lot of us will be at Cat's for Nanci's version of the Tim Holtz Twelve Tags of Christmas class.  We will make three tags on Saturday and then the remainder will be made in two subsequent classes.  It's hard to believe it is getting close to the holidays.  Christmas is less than TWO months away!  YIKES!It is time to start thinking about that Christmas list if you haven't already.  There are several classes coming up at the store that would make great Christmas gifts.

This Christmas window project by Canvas Corp. would make a fabulous Christmas gift for someone or would be a great addition to your Christmas decor.

The class is Thursday, November 1st at 6:00 p.m.

Do you have a cook on your Christmas list?  This recipe card drawer/holder would make a wonderful gift for them (or you, if you can't bear to give it away).

The class is Thursday, November 8th at 6:00 p.m.

This Christmas album by Bazzill using their Lickety Slip page protectors would make a great gift for someone to preserve their Christmas memories.  Or, you could fill it with photos for some very lucky grandparents, who will be delighted.

The class is Saturday, December 8th at 2:00 p.m.

 

Another great gift idea is this birthday reminder book.  Filled with cards, it is a very thoughtful gift that will thrill the recipient.

This class is Saturday, December 29th at 2:00 p.m.

These card boxes are also great gift ideas.  However, they aren't $6.00 like I said on Thursday.  Cat had gotten a special deal on the first batch and they are now $9.99.  However, it is still an inexpensive gift since you can use papers and embellishments from your stash.

 

I hope I have helped you with your Christmas list.  Call the store to reserve a spot in these classes and start marking those gifts off of your list.

 

 

 



IT'S FRIDAY....YEAH!!!

This Friday, we are going to feature some of the new products we have all fallen in love with.  I have been scrapbooking for about 5-6 years now, and it is amazing all of the changes in what we love and the trends that have come and gone...and are back again.  

We love Authentique's beautiful, textured, heavy-weight cardstock.

Carta Bella is very new and has beautiful, textured paper as well.

Echo Park is just coming out with papers that we love all the time.

Fancy Pants has some great papers and their "smash" type albums are very popular.

Heidi Swap just came out with some new things that are very popular.

 And then there is the huge washi (decorative) tape trend...so much fun!

Teresa Collins has just been coming out with amazing products.

NOW, SOME OLDIES, BUT GOODIES:

We can always count on BoBunny for some absolutely gorgeous papers.

My Minds Eye just keeps on coming out with amazing products.

Reminisce always has some great paper collections and their 3D travel stickers are a necessity.

Tim Holtz products just gain in popularity all of the time.  And that leads me to the next thing...products that are back in style...such as the manual die cutting machines.

Embossing powders - now we have distressed ones...which are really cool.  In addition, glitter, micro-beads, and so much more are back in "trend".

 The best thing of all - everything you need is at Cat's!

THANKFUL THURSDAY

It's Thursday...what are you thankful for?   At Cat's, we are so very thankful for you, our wonderful customers.  Without you there would be no store!  Today only, in appreciation for your patronage, enjoy double punches for your purchase if you show this blog post to Cat or Valerie.  That means if your spend $50, you get $100 worth of punches.  You can fill those cards up fast!

Have you altered a storage box for greeting cards yet?  They make great gifts and are so much fun to alter.  Cat never dreamed when she ordered these that they would be so popular.  We first altered them at the Big Girl's Color Club (BGCC) and then again at the You Ought to be in Pictures event.  In addition, people have purchased them to alter and fill with cards for gifts.  Here are some of the ones that have been created:

TUESDAY TIM HOLTZ TEMPTATIONS

We all love the products that carry Tim Holtz's name.  I know a lot of us are a little jealous that Cat has met and taken numerous classes with Tim.  If you follow Tim's blog, you know that every year he has done "The Twelve Tags of Christmas".   As you know, we have our own Nanci Holtsford, who is ultra-creative.  Nanci will be teaching three classes, during which we will make her version of Tim's twelve tags.  If you take all three classes and complete all twelve tags, you will get a free frame in which to display your tags.  We will use things from the Tim Holtz wall to create these tags.

The supply list for the first class (this Saturday, October 27) is:

Your usual tool kit, in addition to these things: 
INKS: Walnut, Vintage Photo, Tumbled Glass, Broken China; Blending Tool & Foam;
Glossy Accents, Crackle Accents; Mini Holidays Stamp Set; Christmas Blueprint Stamp Set; or any of your Tim Christmas stamps will work; Christmas Muse Tokens; Christmas Adornments; new Tinsel if you wish; red, green & icicle or diamond stickles.
As ususal, Cat will have any items you are lacking available for purchase.

 

 Don't miss out on your chance to make some fabulous tags for Christmas.  You can mass produce them to attach to your Christmas gifts if you wish.  I know Nanci has used some of the tags she has created on scrapbook pages and they look great.  Or, you can disply them in the frame we will get after completing the set of tags. 

 

MARVELOUS MONDAY WITH SKETCH INSPIRATION

Trisha posted another sketch over on Sketch Inspiration on Sunday.  This is Sketch #343 and it's a great one.  Come on girls....let's get to creating some layouts using these fabulous sketches.  I really enjoyed using the sketch from last week and creating this layout:

I used some of the My Minds' Eye "All is Bright" collection for the background and the accented it with some of the Teresa Collins' "Tell your Story" collection along with some stamps from Unity.  The washi tape at the bottom is from Teresa Collins and My Minds Eye as well.  I was inspired by Shaunery Wharton to start participating in the CSI challenge site, where she is a member of the design team.   Lots of fun combining Trisha's fabulous sketch and the challenge over at CSI together.  Only problem is.....

I need some company....

Nobody else from Cat's participated this week....

It's very lonesome......

In the meantime, I want to share some of the completed canvases from this weekend's "You Ought to be In Pictures".



This is Cat's canvas and our inspiration.  I love these phtotos of Cat and Ray and they look great on her canvas.

Carol Houston decided to make her's a piece of wall art and leave off the photos.  BEAUTIFUL!

Susan Wolverton made her's very shabby chic with lots of crackle.  LOVE it!

And Kelly Maddux let us all see her super artistic side.  She wrapped the wire of her flowers around twigs that Cat had brought in for our fall page layout.  She made the background all streaked...We were all in awe of her canvas!

 

It was so much fun to see everyone go their own way on these canvases, draw inspiration from each other and then see how differently each one turned out.  I think this was definitely a favorite project for everyone!
