IT'S CATURDAY AND YOU REALLY OUGHT TO BE IN PICTURES!

The stars and tinsel were everywhere as our "You Ought to be in Pictures" event began.  It was a star-studded evening at Cat's as the stars arrived for the evening.

There was "It" 

Everyone was a little frightened when Annie from "Misery" arrived looking just a little bit menacing.

Indiania Jones arrived with a friendly witch.

Even Scout, from "To Kill a Mockingbird" joined us for the evening.

A few eyebrows were raised as Miss Kitty arrived at the store.

"Mr. Mom" took time off to come and brought Alex's "woobie".

Even Ma Kettle came to join the festivities.

Sister Mary Robert flew in from "Sister Act" for the evening of fun.

Anne of Green Gables sweetly arrived for the evening.

Katness from "The Hunger Games" was able to leave the games for the evening.

This guest hasn't been identified yet...has the party been crashed?

Another unidentified guest....we are trying to figure out who they are.

FEATURE FRIDAY

Today, we are featuring none other than:

Ray, aka TomCat, studmuffin (Cat's nickname for him), and hero (Nanci's nickname for him).
I asked him for a short bio so we could learn more about him:

An engineer by trade I like things in right angles and precise. Twenty-five years ago I married Cat and she likes things off centered, harem scarem and hates right angles. Needless to say it does get interesting sometimes! I retired from GTE (Verizon) after 30 years and I worked around our place in the country fixing it up. Then Cat recruited me to help at the scrapbook store. Never knew I could have so many girlfriends-legally! I kept getting more and more involved in making custom albums for the classes that Cat and Nanci dreamed up.

First it was simply cutting shapes out of wood for Cat & Nanci and then they kept wanting to get more detailed. They were getting beyond my skil saw limits. I decided to get a laser for an upgrade to get out of the hot shop into a cool building.

Had NO idea I would have to learn all about it by myself by going online for videos, forums, etc. Still learning but getting better all the time. If Cat & Nanci would quit coming up with ideas I would be up to date! It has become a great hobby that I really enjoy.

I love how he makes those banners and then the letters for us to paint to put on the banners.  Look at what else he and Cat have cooked up for us:

This adorable mug album will be a class in January.  It uses a new collection from BoBunny.

 

I hope you enjoyed learning more about Ray and seeing how much he contributes to this hobby we love.  We would not have nearly as many cute mini albums if we didn't have Ray.

Yes, he does build it with his own two hands....and we are SO VERY glad that he does.

Need help remembering birthdays?  Come join us on December 29th to make this Timeless yearly card holder.  It will solve your problems by providing you a perpetual calendar on which you can note the anniversaries and birthdays.  You can premake the cards and store them in the pockets and they will be ready for you to mail!  Cost of class: $28

Don't forget all of the classes listed on Sunday's post.  You need to mark your calendar for those classes as well.  I told you Cat came back from The Collins Show all inspired with lots of classes for us to take.  Did she ever!  WOW!

SHARING THE LOVE WITH SKETCH INSPIRATION THIS MARVELOUS MONDAY

Trisha posted another wonderful sketch over on Sketch Inspiration yesterday.  Have you been sharing your creations over on the Sketch Inspiration website?  I know I have fallen behind on using the sketches, but since I'm going to start participating in WOW Wednesday maybe I can get caught up.  Trisha is getting discouraged because participation in the weekly challenges is WAY down.  Let's show her our love by using the sketches and sharing our creations on her website.

I've seen numerous sketch websites shut down due to the amount of work involved and lack of participation.  Sketches are fun to use, but if we don't support the people who give us these sketches, then we will lose these great resources.  So....let's all show Trisha how much we love her sketches by using them to create some layouts and share them over on Sketch Inspiration.  If you use an old sketch or don't get your layout done in time for the prize drawing, go ahead and upload it to her website so she knows her sketches are being used.  But to help her get sponsors, we need to try to get layouts created in time for the drawing so people will be more willing ot sponsor her sketch website.  AND...share them on WOW Wednesday and get the participation up for that as well.

Just a reminder, you don't have to follow the sketch exactly...it is for inspiration.  You should be able to see some of the elements, but make it your own.  Just give Sketch Inspiration the credit for providing the inspiration.

SUNDAY INSPIRATION

Cat came back from The Collins Show just full of inspiration and ideas for new classes.  Remember the cool projects she made?  Well, some of them have made their way onto the calendar!

Are you a fan of Tim Holtz's "Twelve Tags of Christmas" that he does every year?  Nanci will be teaching her version of Tim's tags on

Saturday, November 3 at 11:30 a.m.,

and  Thursday, November 15 at 6:00 p.m. 

The cost of each class is $18 and if you take all three classes and complete all 12 tags, you will get, for free, your own frame in which to display your tags.  To keep the cost of the classes low, there will be a supply list for the class and any supplies you do not have will be available for purchase at the store.

I hope you can find time to join us for all of these fun classes.  Some of them would make great Christmas gifts and you could learn some new techniques while you are creating them.  You can make extras of the Christmas tags and use them while wrapping gifts this holiday season.  Make sure you call the store to reserve your spot.
