SUNDAY SKETCH INSPIRATON & WOW WEDNESDAY WINNER

I forgot to announce the winner of  WOW Wednesday:   The winner was #5, Donna Nuce, selected by random.org.  Remember, I take my name out when I'm counting the comments and participants.  So the numbers may not always match up, but that is why.
Trisha is posting Sketch #336 on Sketch Inspiration today and Cat's is the sponsor this week!  Did you know you can use these sketches for cards as well as layouts?  Sometimes you have to really think outside the box, but I think this one would lend itself quite well to cardmaking.

Pam Conover made this card using Sketch 311

This is the card Allison Graves made using the same sketch:

And Sandy Trefger also made a card using the same sketch:

Love all of these cards and how they are all so different.  They also show how to adapt the sketches to be used for cards.

Speaking of cardmaking, we will be making cards at the store Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm for Operation Write Home.  You can read more about Operation Write Home and the guideleines for making cards for our troops on this blogpost featuring our OWH guru, Allison Graves.
Click on the button to get the details about the card drive that Operation Write Home is holding.  There are prizes to be had.....and we all LOVE prizes!

I hope you are inspired to make cards for this worthy cause.  In addition, using sketches makes creating the cards even easier!  I look forward to seeing you at the store Thursday evening for Operation Write Home!

REMINDER:
The store will be closed on Labor Day.  We will be planning events and making projects for the store.

  1. Thanks for posting all the great information about card making! While Sketch Inspirations are great for making cards, you do have to do a bit more thinking on some of the sketches to make them work. If you want access to over 136 sketches made just for cards - check out the sketch collection at Operation Write Home's blog: www.operationwritehome.org/sketches/ HAPPY CARD MAKING!

    1. thanks Allison for the link to OWH! I really do like their sketches. They even give you measurements for those of us who can't "eye-ball" it!

  3. I'd forgot about OWH Thursday! Got to get off this computer and get some office work done to see if I can sneak off. Think I have some kits bagged up that I can work on! OWH sketches are great for cards and like Valerie, I love that the measurements are on the sketches. Sketch Inspiration sketches are awesome for layouts but you can with a bit of tweaking make them work for cards too! :)
