SUNDAY INSPIRATION

Cat is at The Collins Show in Orlando getting all inspired from taking lots of cool classes.  She started Saturday off with Tim Holtz...wouldn't we all love to start our day taking a class with Tim?  That was just the beginning of a very busy and exciting day.
Look at this amazing fold-out album she made.  Sizzix has a die that makes this and you can attach several together and make the album as big or little as you wish.  WOW--I can't wait to see this in person.
She made this card using glitter, stickers, copics, and a Sizzix die.  LOVE it.
I have a feeling this will be a hit here at the store.  A cute recipe drawer using the 7 gypsies card drawer and some Canvas Corp. products.  LOVE it!
She even had homework...finish up this window shadow box project by Canvas Corp.  Love that ribbon valance!
Cat really doesn't have to go to classes to get creative...look what she came up with after we made our snowman screens last week.  She went home and made this adorable pumpkin screen.  LOVE it!

If the weather outside is too cool for you, just stay inside and scrapbook.  Sounds like a good excuse to me!  Check back tomorrow to see some more new product that has arrived at the store.  See you then!

IT'S CATURDAY

....and while the Cat's away, the mice will play..
(not really...Ray, Valerie, and I are manning the store while she's gone)

Cat's in Orlando at The Collins Show learning all kinds of new things to come back and share with us.  This show is non-stop classes that she can bring back and teach here at the store.

Wish you could go?  Well, we aren't Orlando, but you can enjoy the same kind of experience, with Cat's creative twist, by attending
"You Ought to be in Pictures"
October 19th and 20th.
This event is non-stop classes with the twist of everyone dressing as their favorite movie star.  The cost is $65.00 and you will go home with a large canvas project, some two-page layouts, and other projects.  Here are some peeks at part of what we will be making:

 two page layout
part of the canvas project, a custom made name for your project
another two-page layout
and another two page layout.

These events are always loads of fun.  Remember the Murder Mystery Weekend:
Ann playing her part as a princess.
Ray playing his part as the murder victim.

Then there were the cutthroat competitors during Scrapbook Island:

Everyone working away on their challenges so they wouldn't get cropped out.
Teresa Montalvo and her winning entry in one of the challenges.

There is still time to sign up for the fun and creativity during "You Ought to be in Pictures."  Hurry and call the store to reserve your spot so you don't miss out on this fun event.

See you there!

FEATURE FRIDAY

Today we are featuring World Card Making Day and the work of some of our fabulous card making customers.  Tomorrow is the day and there are celebrations and challenges all over the blogosphere.   We have some very talented cardmaking customers and I want to showcase the work of a few of them.
This cute creation is by Allison Graves.  It just shows how you can creatively use die cuts.  I LOVE this card!
Another Allison Graves creation using all white and the sentiment is a sticker by SRM.  Very elegant!
Sandy Trefger crated this adorable scarecrow card.  She used the woodgrain Impression Obsession cover-a-card stamp to make that really cool wood background.
Another Sandy creation featuring an adorable Santa.  Love her use of baker's twine on this card!
Look at this fabulous creation by Valerie Light.  This is such an amazing card.  I was pleased to see that she entered it into the Our Daily Bread Designs challenge.
Another fabulous card by Valerie.  I love the simplicity of this card.  Simplicity is something I really struggle with, but admire so much.
These two cards were created by Pam Conover.  She does such an amazing job. Pam's mom passed away and she has been going through her mom's things.  Pam found the cards that she had made for her mom over the years and has been featuring them on her blog.  What a treasure the cards were to her mom and are now for Pam.
Scrapbooker extraordinaire Shaunery Wharton created this fabulous card.  LOVE the distressing on it!
This cute card was made by none other than Cat!  It is adorable.  However, Cat regretted starting it after she "fussy cut" the window and put the photo of her and Ray in it.  Fussy cutting really earned its name...she fussed just a little!

I want to share just a very few links to some of the many events being held for World Card Making Day.  Operation Write Home is hosting a blog hopUnity Stamp Company is hosting challenges every hour on their blog.  Splitcoast Stampers hosts a big event every year combined with "Hope you Can Cling To", where you make cards for various challenges and then send the completed cards to MD Anderson for cancer patients.  And, of course, Papercraft Magazine, the creator of this fabulous holiday, hosts a huge event.  These are a fraction of the events being held for this holiday.  We are having a crop at Cat's on Saturday.  Call and reserve a spot so you can scrapbook or make a few cards to celebrate World Card Making Day.  Whether you create at home or come to the crop, I hope you can find time to make a card or two for this fun holiday.

WOW WEDNESDAY BLOG HOP & LAST WEEKS' WINNER

The winner from last weeks' blog hop, chosen by random.org, was #6 - Shaunery Wharton on Allison's blog.  Congratulations, Shaunery...contact Cat at the store to claim your prize!

We love seeing the work of our wonderful customers and there is always inspiration to be found while visiting their projects.  Would you like to participate, but do not have a blog?  You do not have to have a blog to participate.  Denise Case has been participating by linking up her creations on Sketch Inspiration. This is how she is doing it: If you have an online gallery at Two Peas, Splitcoast Stampers, Scrapbook.com, Sketch Inspirations (must be using a sketch inspiration sketch), FlickR, or any other online gallery, you can participate. When Mr. Linky asks for your url, just copy and paste the url (that part up at the top where it says http://www/......) of the page of your creation. I have an online gallery at Splitcoast Stampers and if I wanted to link up a card, I would go to my gallery and then click on the card I wanted to link up...let's say it is the Things are Looking Up card. So, I click on that card and then copy and paste the url (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2081676?&cat=500&ppuser=192963) in the blank. TaDa....it is linked up to Mr. Linky! I hope this encourages more to participate in our WOW Wednesdays.

To be considered for the blog candy, you must post a project that you have created. WOW Wednesday must also be mentioned in your post and be sure to let your blog readers know that there is blog candy being given away to a random participant or commenter.

I hope you will share your fabulous creations with us. If you didn't have time to create anything, I hope you will share some love on everyone else's creations--we all love that positive reinforcement!

TUESDAY TEMPTIONS FROM HEIDI SWAPP

Heidi Swapp has arrived at Cat's.  OK, maybe not Heidi Swapp herself, but her products have arrived.
Her new file boxes and displays.
These are the beautiful memory files.
Look at all of the cool embellishments.....
These stickers are really dimensional.
and then there are the mists.....
and all of the cool mistable products.
Oh me, oh my...I can't wait to see what we can make with all of these cool products.
I couldn't stay out of this paper.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these colors!

Cat took some of these home Saturday night to work on Sunday and Monday.  I can't wait to see what her creative mind comes up with.  Get your wallets out, because I'm sure it will be a class that we will all want to take!  LOL!

More boxes are coming in this week.   My head is spinning with all of the beautiful new products and my wish list is getting SO long!

I hope you are as inspired by all of these Heidi Swapp products as I am.  Make sure you get your's before they are all gone!

MARVELOUS MONDAY WITH AUTHENTIQUE AND SKETCH INSPIRATION

Nita Griffith has been rocking the sketches the past few weeks using the "Genuine" collection by Authentique.  This is the layout she made this past week using sketch #339 by Sketch Inspiration.  I love the embellishment cluster at the base of the page.
She made this layout for sketch #338 and
this layout for sketch #337.

Being the friend that I am, I have alerted her to the arrival of the new "original:" collection that coordinates nicely with this collection.  Nita is making a travel album using this collection, and since she and her husband travel so much with his job, she probably needs MORE paper.....
Yes, she definitely needs this....think I might need some too!
The Authentique "Thankful" collection will look great for all of those fall foliage photos, pumpkin patch, and Thanksgiving holiday photos.  These collections both feature the fabulous heavy, textured paper that we all love about Authentique.

Don't delay....hurry on down to the store to pick up these beautiful collections before they are all gone!  If you live too far away to visit the store in person, give Cat a call and she will mail your goodies to you.
