Sketch It Thursday with KinderStampO Design Team
I was given this great sketch to create this week's layout for the KinderStampO Design Team. Elisa Kammerdiener designed the sketch and here is the sketch and my take:
I used the new collection by Allison Kreft, Composition and Color, for Webster's Pages. I just LOVE this collection. The colors are wonderful and the designs are so much fun.
I cut the papers up to make the dilapidated "wooden" fence. I cut sections and put them together at angles like the fence is falling down. Between and behind the fence I placed little roses from Jess's online store, http://www.luulla.com/store/ KinderStampO. I sprayed them with the Tim Holtz Pearl Mist in Forever Red to get them to match the paper. I then cut out the vines with the Vine & Leaf Sizzix die and made them all pop out from between the boards of the fence. All fences need nails--even if they are not holding up anything. So I added rust colored brads for the fence nails. I used foam tape under some of the various pieces of the fence so they would stand above the others for more added dimension and depth.
My cousins and I were laughing at my sweet Ray as he took the pics of us. I wanted the title to show how much fun we were having so I turned the "A" upside down in CRAZY. Have fun with your titles when the pics are of a fun event--makes the pages more fun.
I just love all of the resin pieces Webster's Pages has to go with their collections. I combined the frame with the saying to make this one for my layout. I added the vine and leaf die cut to them for more pop.
I hope you have enjoyed this layout. I had a blast working on this one. Come in and get all of this wonderful product to make your layout and share with us. We love to see your work posted on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/CatsCreationsScrapbooks. Be sure to check out KinderStampO's store, http://www.luulla.com/store/ KinderStampO, for the mini roses and more fun embellies.
See ya at the Store!!

Color It Tuesday with KinderStampO Design Team
Today is my day for a project using the color palette given for the KinderStampO Design Team. Hmmm, bit too much pink for me so I am really glad that Easter is available for the project. Always pink eggs you know.
I decided to do a spin off of the tag that Nanci did in the Tag Class a couple of weeks ago. I used one of the cardboard eggs Ray cut out with the laser and decorated it to look kinda like those pretty sugary eggs you see at Easter.
I decided to do a spin off of the tag that Nanci did in the Tag Class a couple of weeks ago. I used one of the cardboard eggs Ray cut out with the laser and decorated it to look kinda like those pretty sugary eggs you see at Easter.
This a fun & easy project you can make and set out each year for Easter. Here is a list of the supplies needed:
Product from Cat's Creations:
Cardboard Laser Cut Egg, Laser Cut Easter Sign, Pink ribbon 12", white ribbon 6"
1 piece of Easter paper. I used the pastel stripe from the Reminisce collection.
Felt cut out of a bunny, Chipboard cut out of the same bunny
Fragments in various colors from Stampendous, Glossy Accents, Diamond Dust
Seedless Preserves Distress Stain, Tim Holtz Memo Pin
Faber Castell Gelato in Purple and a Gray Art Pencil
Product from KinderStampO:
Purple flowers, Purple rhinestone chain, clear rhinestone chain with the round circle pieces, middle size doily, blank pendent.
Cover your egg with the paper you have chosen. Cut the purple rhinestone chain to just one layer and go all the way around the outside of the egg with them. Add Glossy Accents to the egg front in the areas that will show. OK, I just smear around with my finger. Then sprinkle with Diamond Dust for the sugar effect. Set aside to dry.
Color your Easter sign with the purple Gelatto. I used my finger to rub the color into the chipboard. Now go back over the inside of the etched letters with the gray art pencil. Go around the edge with Seedless Preserves Distress Stain for more impact on the sign. Add the clear rhinestones to the cross T so that it stands out on the sign.
Adhere the felt bunny to the chipboard. Using the Tim Holtz Scratcher rough up the felt so the bunny looks fluffy. Add some purple bing for a necklace after you run the pendent through it. Cover the inside of the pendent with glossy accents and carefully place a variety of colors of the new fragments from Stampendous to the Glossy accents. I push down with a pin. Cover the top with Glossy and let it dry. Add a clear rhinestone for an eye. Using some of your leftover ribbon from your "stash" tie a bow for his ears.
Fold the middle sized doily so that it comes to a point at the bottom and overlaps a bit in the front. Add the round larger bling to every other circle of the doily. Place your now fluffy and blinged up bunny in the doily and adhere all to the egg at an angle as shown.
Add the purple flowers as shown. Tie your pink ribbon into a pretty bow and add as shown. Place your Easter sign in the Memo pin and stick it through the flowers at the angle you desire.
You can also add ribbon to the top to hang it or you can do what I did and stand it up in the Easter grass as a table decoration.
Have fun with this one ladies! Let your imagination run wild with it!
Happy Easter everyone,
Cat!

MARVELOUS MONDAY
Spring is here, but winter isn't quite ready to leave just yet. As is typical here in Texas, we are having a cold spell just as spring arrives. It's a great excuse to come to the store and shop or bring your stuff to scrapbook a while.
While planning is underway for the National Scrapbook Day Retreat the first weekend of May, there are lots of things planned for the month of April.
Gather your supplies and projects and head to the store on April 6th for the First Saturday Crop. Be prepared for a day of fun, creativity, and laughter.
At 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13th, come on down to the store to make this Mother's Day album/card. Cat designed this beauty using some beautiful Teresa Collins' papers.

Cat will be heading off to The Collins Show the following week. This show is packed with classes and she always comes back filled with ideas for new classes. I can't wait to see what she learns this time. While she is gone, Valerie and I will be manning the store on April 20th for the third Saturday crop. We love getting to work together and are looking forward to cropping all day with you.
Saturday, April 27th, is the EclipzShotz DieCatz class. These are fun and I look forward to seeing what we learn to create this time.
Come join us for a fun-filled April.

SUNDAY INSPIRATION
I don't know about you, but I love giving handmade gifts to people. I am always inspired to make something when it is time to give. Cat has lots of kits and classes that are perfect for gift-giving.
This is a really pretty accordion folded card/album that will make a wonderful Mother's Day gift.
Love this line of Teresa Collins' papers and they make a wonderful album/card. This would be loved by any mother, especially when filled with photos.
Cat has quite a few kits by Teresa Collins that are easy to make. They make great gifts. I know I have made some of these kits and love them. When you are looking for a gift, check out these kits and see if any of them meet your needs.

MARVELOUS MONDAY
Cat had a blast teaching the ladies at Rayline's retreat how to make this "Girls Just Want to have Fun" album on Sunday.
As is always true, everyone puts their own special touch on the project. Kathy decided to make her album cover a little more voluptuous.
These stamps were the inspiration for this album, along with a brainstorming session with customers.
There is a Copic 101 class in the middle of the class so everyone can learn how to color the stamped images with Copics. Cat said it got really quiet while everyone was concentrating on their coloring.

Learning all of the cool techniques that Cat used in this fun album. I believe this class was a big hit! Everyone had a great time and went home with an adorable album.
There will be another class for this Girlfriend album this coming Saturday, March 23rd. If you want to make this album, call the store to see if there is still room. I know lots of people have signed up, so don't delay.
