Sketch It Thursday with KinderStampO Design Team

Good Tricky Weather Thursday! Can you believe the "chill" in the air today? But it is perfect weather for creating.  I have been working feverishly on projects and details for our annual NSD CatVention Retreat and I realized I had to do a layout for today's Sketch.  Not one of my best, but turned out kinda fun even if I do consider it rather flat for my normal tastes.

This is the sketch that Elisa Kammerdiener from the KinderStampO Design Team gave me to work with. You know I had to change it a bit. . .

Here is my take using some of My Mind's Eye's Collectable collection and Tim Holtz chipboard letters.  We have a squirrel that just LOVES to irritate our two wiener dogs. Rambo thought he was going to get him this particular morning.  Not quite! That little bugger is FAST!

I used a circle instead of an oval. Not a real heart kinda person so I used the tag from the collection in it's place.  I used green twine to outline the circle. I also used Vintage Photo to outline everything for more pop. I even did blending around the edge of the striped paper so it had a "walk in" look to the page. I always use my blending tool from Tim Holtz for inking as it gives a softer look.

Hope you enjoy and find yourself using this easy page layout in your variation for many pages.

Don't forget--Thursday this week, April 11th is DOUBLE PUNCH DAY.  Head on over, stock up and double up on cards.

  1. Great layout and love the pics of the squirrel and Rambo. Love the twine/rope around the circle--great accent!

  2. Nice job! I like the twine around the circle too! I also like your choice of papers and inking around the edges! Your dogs always provide great entertainment.
