ART JOURNAL MEMORIES

Our day with Jen Starr ended with an Art Journal Class.  We made an album cover out of chipboard and paper shipping tape.  We covered it with Gesso (a thick white paint) and then used various paints and mediums along with lace, cheesecloth, tissue paper, doily, ribbon and buttons to make a variation of the cover pictured above.  Check out what everyone did:
Another item that we also learned we could add into the mix were the mica fragments and glass glitter By Stampendous.  Love how that makes it sparkle!
On this one,, the mica fragments and glass glitter are in a row above the lace  Beautiful colors!
An art journal is all about learning to play and experiment with new techniques.
Love the vibrant blues, purples and the splash of gold on this journal cover.
I've got my eye on you!  LOL!  Love that beautiful blue eye and butterfly on this cover.
So many beautiful shades of brown, green, and teal on this cover.
Simple gradient colors on this cover.
After we finished the cover, Jen taught us numerous techniques to use when making our pages.  Plus, we learned how to bind our new art journal.

What a fabulous time everyone had learning how to use all of the different mediums.  Everyone left with their minds filled with ideas and their arms full of fabulous projects. We all had a fantastic time and hope that Jen can come play with us again.
