Sketch It Thursday with KinderStampO Design Team

I was given this great sketch to create this week's layout for the KinderStampO Design Team.  Elisa Kammerdiener designed the sketch and here is the sketch and  my take:

I used the new collection by Allison Kreft, Composition and Color, for Webster's Pages.  I just LOVE this collection.  The colors are wonderful and the designs are so much fun.

I cut the papers up to make the dilapidated "wooden" fence. I cut sections and put them together at angles like the fence is falling down.  Between and behind the fence I placed little roses from Jess's online store, http://www.luulla.com/store/KinderStampO.  I sprayed them with the Tim Holtz Pearl Mist in Forever Red to get them to match the paper.  I then cut out the vines with the Vine & Leaf Sizzix die and made them all pop out from between the boards of the fence. All fences need nails--even if they are not holding up anything. So I added rust colored brads for the fence nails.  I used foam tape under some of the various pieces of the fence so they would stand above the others for more added dimension and depth.

My cousins and I were laughing at my sweet Ray as he took the pics of us. I wanted the title to show how much fun we were having so I turned the "A" upside down in CRAZY.  Have fun with your titles when the pics are of a fun event--makes the pages more fun.

I just love all of the resin pieces Webster's Pages has to go with their collections.  I combined the frame with the saying to make this one for my layout.  I added the vine and leaf die cut to them for more pop.

I hope you have enjoyed this layout. I had a blast working on this one.  Come in and get all of this wonderful product to make your layout and share with us.  We love to see your work posted on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/CatsCreationsScrapbooks.  Be sure to check out KinderStampO's store, http://www.luulla.com/store/KinderStampO, for the mini roses and more fun embellies.

See ya at the Store!!

Color It Tuesday with KinderStampO Design Team

Today is my day for a project using the color palette given for the KinderStampO Design Team.  Hmmm, bit too much pink for me so I am really glad that Easter is available for the project.  Always pink eggs you know.

I decided to do a spin off of the tag that Nanci did in the Tag Class a couple of weeks ago.  I used one of the cardboard eggs Ray cut out with the laser and decorated it to look kinda like those pretty sugary eggs you see at Easter.

This a fun & easy project you can make and set out each year for Easter.  Here is a list of the supplies needed:
Product from Cat's Creations:
Cardboard Laser Cut Egg, Laser Cut Easter Sign, Pink ribbon 12", white ribbon 6"
1 piece of Easter paper.  I used the pastel stripe from the Reminisce collection.
Felt cut out of a bunny, Chipboard cut out of the same bunny
Fragments in various colors from Stampendous, Glossy Accents, Diamond Dust
Seedless Preserves Distress Stain, Tim Holtz Memo Pin
Faber Castell Gelato in Purple and a Gray Art Pencil
Product from KinderStampO:
Purple flowers, Purple rhinestone chain, clear rhinestone chain with the round circle pieces, middle size doily, blank pendent.

Cover your egg with the paper you have chosen.  Cut the purple rhinestone chain to just one layer and go all the way around the outside of the egg with them.  Add Glossy Accents to the egg front in the areas that will show. OK, I just smear around with my finger. Then sprinkle with Diamond Dust for the sugar effect. Set aside to dry.

Color your Easter sign with the purple Gelatto.  I used my finger to rub the color into the chipboard.  Now go back over the inside of the etched letters with the gray art pencil.  Go around the edge with Seedless Preserves Distress Stain for more impact on the sign. Add the clear rhinestones to the cross T so that it stands out on the sign.

Adhere the felt bunny to the chipboard. Using the Tim Holtz Scratcher rough up the felt so the bunny looks fluffy.  Add some purple bing for a necklace after you run the pendent through it.  Cover the inside of the pendent with glossy accents and carefully place a variety of colors of the new fragments from Stampendous to the Glossy accents. I push down with a pin. Cover the top with Glossy and let it dry.  Add a clear rhinestone for an eye.  Using some of your leftover ribbon from your "stash" tie a bow for his ears.

Fold the middle sized doily so that it comes to a point at the bottom and overlaps a bit in the front.  Add the round larger bling to every other circle of the doily. Place your now fluffy and blinged up bunny in the doily and adhere all to the egg at an angle as shown.

Add the purple flowers as shown. Tie your pink ribbon into a pretty bow and add as shown. Place your Easter sign in the Memo pin and stick it through the flowers at the angle you desire.

You can also add ribbon to the top to hang it or you can do what I did and stand it up in the Easter grass as a table decoration.

Have fun with this one ladies! Let your imagination run wild with it!

Happy Easter everyone,
Cat!

KinderStampO Design Team Color It Tuesday

I am doing the Color It Tuesday this week and conned Jes into letting me use Brights for the colors so that I could use the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Album I just created for a class at the store.  I had a blast creating this one.  During another class I brought up the request for a girls having fun album and ideas started rolling with the ladies.  Kittie France popped off with a bikini and then it was idea after idea. I couldn't write fast enough to keep up with the ideas.  Challenge: putting all of those ideas into a book for us "older girls". Then the new Girlfriend stamps from Art Impressions came in and the ideas just flew around in my head. Ray cut out the pieces on the laser for me and I started throwing it all together. Here is what came of all the ideas along with the bright, happy paper I picked for this one.

The cover includes the bikini clad girl with the sun and the sand. There are several hidden places in the book for additional pics. This album holds full 4x6 pics as well as smaller ones.  Love adding flip out, fold up albums to the inside so the books can hold so many more pics than you would think.

Love the sun die in the middle of the book with the corrugated glitter paper.  Check out the acrylic margarita glass.

The flip flops open up for more pics.

This class includes a mini Copic class with the Girlfriend Stamps. They were perfect for this album.

This class is set for March 23rd at 2pm.  Cost is $60 which includes the mini-Copic class. We will teach you how to shade and work with the colors for the best effect.  There will be various techniques taught as well in this one from things you would never think about.  Join us for the fun but don't wait toooooo long. This class is over half full now.

KinderStampO Design Team Thursday Sketch

 KinderStampO Design Team Thursday Sketch

This Thursday I am doing the sketch for the KinderStampO Design Team. I decided I just had to use the new Authentique Hope Collection with it's soft colors and hint of vintage Easter. Here is the sketch I was given:

And here is the Layout I ended up with from the sketch:

OK, so the layout does not look much like the sketch, but that is the beauty of sketches. You use them to inspire you and you let your creative juices roll with it!  Ray cut the egg paper with our Accucut Ribbon Circle die and then I laced the blue crepe ribbon through it. I used the Tim Holtz Bag die for the journaling tag.  The tag is a combo of the stickers. I used one sticker and backed with the paper. Then I cut the Memories part off another tag and added to this one.  The arrow sticker is also from the sticker sheet.  The cork circles are from Canvas Corp and  were a great addition to the date stickers. The flowers are from Petaloo and the bunnies are one of the Scrap FX border cuts we have at the store. I then colored them with the Tim Holtz Distress Stain.

Tim Holtz Bag die and stickers from the collection along with some cork dots for the date stickers. Great way to have hidden journaling.

In the top left I added one of the word stickers and a beautiful Petaloo flower.

More Petaloo flowers and chipboard bunnies from Scrap FX colored with Tim Holtz Distress Stain.

Love the bunnies and the laced ribbon through the die cut paper.

Hope you enjoyed this layout, I had fun making it. Now to get a good pic this Easter to use on it!  Head on over to www.KinderStampO.com to see more fun goodies from the other design team members.

KinderStampO Design Team Sketch Thursday

Here we are on a Thursday and it is once again my turn for the Sketch project for KinderStampO Design Team.

This is the sketch for this week.  I'm thinking, hmmmmm, how to dress this up a bit so it is more me?
This is what I came up with.  I added a bit to it, as I usually do, and blinged it up a bit.  I love this Authentique Seasons collection even tho' it has a base of pink. Yes, I said I liked the pink in this collection.  However, you see that I used more of the teal whenever I could, LOL.
Love my Petaloo flowers and even had a pink one left over in my stash from Prima.  I actually cut out the flags in the Tim Holtz metal holder from the right bottom of the paper and covered the gap with a scrap of paper and lots of flowers.  I used a piece of scrap lace for the bow. Below you will see close ups of the other areas of the layout that added more POP.
Lace wrapped around the photo mat with twine bows.
I ran twine along the flags I cut out to make them pop more.
Fussy cutting--don'tcha love it?  Not really, but I did cut out the signs and the bottom of the umbrella handle so the pic could slide underneath.

Hop on over to http://www.kinderstampo.com/ to see more fun projects from other design team members.

KinderStampO Design Team Color It Tuesday Project

Today was my day at the KinderStampO Design Team for the Color It Tuesday project.  I chose to do a canvas of my nieces and nephew. My brother's babies are always a great source for pics and since their dad is a photographer they are total hams! I used a wide variety of product for this one. Canvas Corp canvas, KinderStampO doilies & flowers, Bazzill ribbon, Ranger Distress Inks, Echo Park papers and stickers.  The color palatte consisted of Dusty Rose, Evergreen, Dark Brown and White.  Kinda fun mixing up all of these things for an outcome that I can give my brother and sister-in-law.  Wee bit late with this post-- computer issues at the store.  I left mine at home and Ray's decided it needed to go to the computer hospital. Be sure to hop over to www.KinderStampO.com and check out the blog for more great ideas and inspiration from the other design team members.

KinderStampO Design Team "Holiday Cheer" Blog Hop

Welcome to the KinderStampO Design Team "Holiday Cheer" Blog Hop...
I am so excited to be a member of this extremely talented design team! Being on the design team for Jess is giving me a wonderful new insight to some extremely creative ladies. I am blown away by the talent on this team and can't wait for all of you to see their gorgeous creations. I feel a bit inadequate on this team of talent.

I love to craft and those that know me know how my craftiness, my photobugness all rolled together into scrapbooking in the 90s and eventually led to me owning my own scrapbook store, Cat's Creations Scrapbooks in Mineral Wells, Texas.  I love the fact that there are soooo many wonderful people in this industry. I have grown to love my customers as they become a part of our scrapbook family.  I know when their kids are sick, when they have problems at work, when life is bringing them down and when life is up.  The store is a place for the ladies to hang out, vent, express their opinions and just be themselves while they are creating.  Laughter abounds and that is what I really love, all the laughter from everyone as they create.  It is such a great sound.

For the bloghop, I made a tag giftcard holder. The giftcard holder is actually made of a fattened toilet paper roll (thanks Sandy Trefger for the inspiration).  My tag is made of chipboard and covered with Bo Bunny paper. I added a silver snowflake ornament with a doily folded in with a rose ribbon for the center.  I laced the doily with red sparkly ribbon.  I also added these cool metal pieces that I painted with copics.  The greenery is made from cotton rope pieces that are frayed and then I added a red ball for each one's center. The gift card goes in behind the greenery.

The back side of the tag just can't be left undone don't you know.  I added one of the new glassine bags that I embossed with the Tim Holtz embossing folder and added distress ink to the 25.  I wrapped it with the red sparkly ribbon and then put a sentiment card inside.  You can see the silver snowflake sticking out from the front.  I also made the gift card holder and the metal poinsettia piece hang off the edge of the tag. I added the red to the back of the poinsettia piece where you can see it.  I love to have things sticking off the edge and over the top.  Makes the piece so much more interesting.

I have some blog candy for our first design team blog hop:
This is the new Doodlebug Valentine collection.
