CROPPING OUT JUVENILE DIABETES

Saturday, it was all about
Cropping out Juvenile Diabetes.
While we had creative fun,
we also raise money for this worthy cause.

There were bags full of goodies for us
to purchase tickets for chances to win.
Cat, Vickie, and two Sharons went to
Mark Witschorke's  Antique store before
Cat's opened and picked up some things to alter.

This window/shelf is one
that Sharon Leonard purchased to alter
for Christmas.
The finished product will look great on her
walls during the holidays.
 Cat altered this picture frame
for the Christmas holidays.
The candy striped rods were also purchased
at Mark's.

This picture frame is another one that
Sharon Leonard altered.
Very elegant!

We had lots of fun creating on Saturday
while cropping for a great cause.
Plus we won same great prizes!

ELEVENTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION CROP

It's been 11 years since Cat's opened
and we have been celebrating all month
with endless classes,
 2-day crops,
and guest designer Ken Oliver teaching.
Thanks to all of you that have supported us
 through the years
and that continue to support us.
Without YOU, this crazy venture would not have happened.
We hope to be around until Cat is too darn old to keep up the pace!
This past Saturday/Sunday we
had a full house for the Anniversary crop.
Glenda was busy working on her make and take.
Later on, she got busy with her Cricut and
made us a sign for the back door that most of us use.
Happy Anniversary to the store!!!!
Julie, Pam, and Valerie were watching as Cat
demonstrated how to create the make and take.
Everyone had fun using the
Art Anthology stencils, inks, and mediums
to create their make and takes!
Taqueria la Estrella was THE place to eat!
Some of us had lunch AND dinner from there!
Free margaritas made it very popular for dinner.
Their street tacos have been popular at
the store for quite some time.
All of their food is delicious.
What can you do with a specimen slide holder?
We decided to find out with a contest.
 Some thought we were nuts,
others took the challenge and ran with it.

Sharon made a really cute tribute to her grandmother complete with a pic.
Gloria did her waiting for Santa in pinks and beiges. Too cute.

Julie took her's to Paris.

Pam's adorable mini frame of her daughter.
 Nanci judged the entries and
Pam was our winner with her adorable tribute to her daughter.

A fabulous time was had by all.
Looking forward to the next
11 years!!!

SHAMROCK IMAGINATION

Three corks banded together
+ green paint
+ hand drawn stem
EQUALS
a Shamrock!!!
Cat started playing around during the last crop and
found a unique way to paint some shamrocks.

When trying this technique, it is important that the
corks be the same size.

Create some polka dots using a single cork and some paint.

We have these really cute wooden blocks for sale at the store.
Take some twine and wind it around the block
and tie it at the top.
Cute, huh!

Add some paint and look what a cool texture you
create on your tag/project.

Stop by the store and pick up some of these blocks
and see what you can do with them.
Try out these techniques and come up with some of your own!

MIXING IT UP WITH JEN STARR

We all had a blast mixing it up with Jen Starr (far right).
Some of us were able to share our finished (or almost finished) canvases,
but some were wet and couldn't be shared with you.
Ann and Pam decided to share their inky hands!

Sharon was working hard on some of the techniques we learned
during the day.
Cat caught me working so hard on my technique that my hand was a blur!  LOL!
Everyone gathered around Jen as she demonstrated various techniques using
products from Viva Decor, Art Anthology, Ranger, Stampendous, and Crafter's Workshop as well
as acrylic paints and various other mediums.

We all loved the class with Jen!
Can't wait for her next visit to Texas!!!

WOW...YOU BETTER HURRY!

Cat took an altered art class at CHA from Nathalie Kalback and had a blast.
Guess what came in at the store today!
The Creative Palette "Gelly Plates" that Nathalie used in her altered art projects!
There are great instructions and photos on the back that show how to use them.
I picked mine up today and can't wait to use it!
Also got all of her new stamps & each set comes with a stencil!
The pic of the included stencil is in the upper right corner.
Each stamp set has a different stencil.
Check out the big splat stencil that comes with these fun stamps.  AWESOME!!!
This is the stamp set that Cat used in class and had so much fun using.
All of these stamp sets are literally FLYING out of the store.
Cat ordered more of the Gelly Plates than she did the stamps, so there are plenty of those.
But, if you see a stamp set you want, you better hurry....
or you may have to wait for the
REORDER!!!
