TEMPTING TUESDAY

Geni, Cat, and Ann with creative genius Tim Holtz.  The day before Cat and Ann returned from The Collins Show in Boston, they got to spend the whole day using Ranger Products.
The Radically Ranger Workshop began with Tim Holtz.  They used
the distress markers to watercolor a tag,
distress paints to marbleize a tag,
and a resist technique with the remnant rubs.
They spackled with Gesso and used a resist technique
and they stamped with Gesso for a different resist technique.
The afternoon was spent with Dyan Reavely and her dylusion line of products by Ranger.
Ann and Geni were having fun in Dyan's class!
Dyan is a wild and crazy gal.....so you know her class was a blast!

Cat, Ann, and Geni had fun and learned a lot at The Collins Show.
Look for some fun and creative classes at the store!
Reason #2 to attend a retreat:
Consider it group therapy!

THE TIMES, THEY ARE A CHANGING!

photo.JPG
Look at the new sign Cat and Ray made for the store.  Don't you just love it?  I love the paw print frame.  Of course, the back side is decorated as well!
Here is a close-up of the hours.  Notice something different?  Yes, Cat is changing the hours.  She will no longer be open until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.  Since everyone knew the store closed at 6:00 the rest of the week, they forgot that we were open until 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays.   So, Cat decided to go ahead and close at 6:00 p.m. on Thursdays.  She will get to go home and get a couple extra hours of rest!

Another change is that she will close at 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays when there isn't a crop or class.  Of course, when there is a crop or class, she will stay open as needed to accommodate the crop or class.

These are very minor changes and none of us will probably even notice the changes.  You know Cat--if we were coming to the store during these times, she wouldn't be making these changes.  She is very conscientious about taking care of her customers and would not be closing the store if it was a busy time of day.   So, file this away in case you are ever tempted to come to the store after 6:00 p.m. on Thursdays....you will be standing at the door admiring this new sign and going OOPS..I knew this!

Reason #4 to attend a retreat:
No one there will accuse you of being a "scrapaholic."

CAT-TASTIC FLAMINGO NEWS

As flamingos around the world heard about our Flamingo Funnies NSD Retreat, they have been flocking to Mitchell's Resort and RV Park.  So many, in fact, that they made the cover of Texas Park and Wildlife magazine.  Flamingos aren't something we see every day here in Texas, but they are here!
Nanci had some visit her house in Lipan.
This Mexican pottery style flamingo was visiting the Rosa's by Hulen Mall.  Can you believe that a flamingo actually was seen in Fort Worth?
Nanci decorated a tag with this flamingo.
This sparkly flamingo was spotted on Cat's ear!  You just never know where you will see a flamingo.
Look at the beautiful wreath that Cat created for NSD....is that a flamingo I see?????
This is how we are used to seeing flamingos.  They stand on one leg and are usually found near some water.  However, I have a feeling we will be seeing them
EVERYWHERE
during the NSD retreat at Mitchell's next weekend.
I don't know about you, but I am looking forward to making this Flamingo Funnies album.
We will most likely have lots of funny flamingo photos to fill the album.
It may be "attack of the flamingos" next weekend.
No matter what, I'm sure we will have a
FLAMINGO good time!

WOW WEDNESDAY

Congratulations to our first WOW Wednesday winner after we changed things up.  The winner is:  #4, Kristie on Allison's blog.   Just a reminder that I am not counted when counting for the winning #.

If it's the second or fourth Wednesday of the month, then it is time for our WOW Wednesday linky party. We made a few changes to WOW Wednesday:
  1. It is the second and fourth Wednesday of the month.
  2. You have TWO WEEKS to participate.  I will be reminding you along the way that there is still time to participate.
  3. The winner will be announced on the next WOW Wednesday post.
Other than that, it is the same:

To be considered for the blog candy, you must post a project that you have created. WOW Wednesday must also be mentioned in your post and be sure to let your blog readers know that there is blog candy being given away to a random participant or commenter.  Would you like to participate, but do not have a blog? You do not have to have a blog to participate. You can find the directions on how to link up your creations that you have in a gallery here

I hope you will share your fabulous creations with us. If you didn't have time to create anything, I hope you will share some love on everyone else's creations--we all love that positive reinforcement
Just a reminder that I am not considered for the blog candy, but anyone who comments on my blog IS in the running. Thank you to everyone who participates, either by posting some work or commenting on the blogs.

THE COUNTDOWN IS ON!

You still have a week to create a layout and link it up to Cat's Sketch Fever.  If you don't have time to create a layout, you also get a chance to win a prize by commenting on the participants' creations.  So, link and comment away!

You have until 10:00 p.m. tonight to link up your creation on WOW Wednesday or to comment on the participants' creations.  Get busy and link and/or comment away!
One of the fun things about Cat's retreats happens before the retreat even begins.  Our own Vickie Robbins does a countdown on Facebook, counting down the days until the retreat.  Very clever girl!  I thought I would share this years' countdown thus far for those who don't do Facebook and those who might have missed them.

There are 21 days till NSD Retreat and I'm getting ready! This years theme is "Flamingo Funnies" so I thought that I would share some scrapbook funnies that I have read. So grab your flamingos and get ready for the retreat.  If you're not signed up then do it because friends don't let friends crop alone.

20 days till NSD Retreat. Scrapbooking: The art of spending $50 to showcase a $1.50 photo.  Don't forget your money for "Elephant Dung" LOL

19 days till NSD Retreat!! There's no such thing as too many scrapbook supplies. That is just a rumor made up by husbands! LOL

18 days till NSD retreat!! You know true multi-tasking is scrapbooking and talking while using scissors and a die-cut machine.

17 days till NSD Retreat!! Scrapbookers give crop circles a whole other meaning

16 days till NSD Retreat!! She who has the most scrapbook supplies wins! Right now I'm in 1st, 2nd and 3rd!! (FYI this is not about me!) LOL!!

15 days till NSD Retreat!! Scrapbooking fills my days not to mention my living room, dining room, bedroom and closet! LOL

14 days till NSD Retreat!! My husband said it was him or scrapbooking, I'm really going to miss him! LOL

13 days till NSD Retreat!! Be nice to a scrapbooker or she will punch your eyelets out!

12 days till NSD Retreat!! If it's not in the scrapbook then it didn't happen!

11 days till NSD Retreat!! Yes there is a difference in 12x12, 8x8, 6x6, and yes I do need two of every size in every color!! This is me! LOL

10 days till NSD Retreat!! Reason # 10 to attend a retreat: When you are out of ideas of what to do with your layout, half a dozen people will instantly come up with several fantastic ideas!

9 days till NSD Retreat!! Reason # 9 to attend a retreat: Someone is bound to have a new "scraparatus" for you to try out!

I wonder what the next 8 reasons are.....Guess we will just have to wait to find out!

MARVELOUS MONDAY

Cat and Ray were rather surprised by the sale that Valerie and I had at the store Saturday.  Do you think they look mad?????   I'm kind of worried...it really seemed like a good idea at the time!
Then Cat put her "teacher" face on and said she just hoped everyone spent lots of money to pay for all of the new goodies she ordered at the show!  Whew, since they did spend lots, she isn't mad after all!
Cat claims that she is taking classes non-stop, but it looks to me like she is playing.....
Even Tim Holtz looks like he is goofing around!
And then, Ann and Cat got caught napping.

Hmmm......looks to me like the mice weren't the only ones playing!

I don't know about you, but I am anxious to see what all Cat and Ann learned while they were in Boston.  It was a lot of fun last year to see all of the cool classes they came back with.  I'm sure this year will be no different.

SUNDAY INSPIRATION

Cat is in Boston getting lots of ideas and inspiration for new classes for the store.
Look at these cool cards they made using Sizzix dies.  Love these interactive cards!  Really a lot of fun to give and receive.
This is the inside of the checked card.
Have you seen the Viva Décor 3D stamp paints that Cat has at the store?  Look what you can do with them.  I had bought some and can't wait to find out how to do this.  Fun!!!
This was made using some different Viva products--LOVE it!  Lots of fun!

Valerie and I had lots of fun at the store with our "Mice will play" sale.  Lots of people came to take advantage of the sale and we enjoyed getting to see everyone.  Besides the sale, we also worked on projects for the National Scrapbook Day retreat.  Yes, I said work....we did work, even though Cat is away.  Had fun with the croppers while we worked on the NSD projects.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope you get to spend a little time creating.
