WOW WEDNESDAY

The winner from last weeks' blog hop, chosen by random.org, was #3- Papel Scissors, from Valerie's blog. Congratulations...contact Cat at the store to claim your prize!

We love seeing the work of our wonderful friends and customers and there is always inspiration to be found while visiting their projects. Would you like to participate, but do not have a blog? You do not have to have a blog to participate. You can find the directions on how to link up your creations that you have in a gallery here.

To be considered for the blog candy, you must post a project that you have created. WOW Wednesday must also be mentioned in your post and be sure to let your blog readers know that there is blog candy being given away to a random participant or commenter. .

I hope you will share your fabulous creations with us. If you didn't have time to create anything, I hope you will share some love on everyone else's creations--we all love that positive reinforcement
Just a reminder that I am not considered for the blog candy, but anyone who comments on my blog IS in the running. Thank you to everyone who participated last week, either by posting some work or commenting on the blogs.

TUESDAY RETREAT TEMPTATIONS

Do you need to just get away from it all and relax?  Nothing is more relaxing than the sound of a little waterfall.  There is still time to sign up for the November retreat that begins next week on Thursday, November 8.  If you can't make it on Thursday, you can sign up to begin your retreat on Friday, November 9.
Time to relax in the beautiful countryside and get in a little game of miniature golf.
Time to gather round the table and pick up some beautiful new product that was saved just for the retreaters.
Scrapbook a little....or a lot.
Laugh a little...
or maybe roll in the floor laughing...you just never know!
Enjoy the time with friends
and get that group shot with all of your scrapbook buddies.
Enjoy the musical talents of these cute little froggies.
Party like there is no tomorrow!
Don't delay...sign up while there is still room.
You won't regret it.
It's a great way to recharge your batteries before the mad rush of the holiday season.

MARVELOUS MONDAY WITH SKETCH INSPIRATION

Trisha posted Sketch 344 over on Sketch Inspiration yesterday.  This one looks like lots of fun and I am anxious to make a layout with it.  I hope you find time to create a layout using this sketch so I can share your work on the blog next Monday.
This is Sketch 343 from last week.
I was excited to see that Valerie created another on of her beautiful layouts last week and used the sketch.  She did a wonderful job creating this layout of her daughter and her family at the pumpkin patch.  LOVE it!
This is the layout I created using some wonderful papers from My Minds Eye.  In addition to using the sketch from Sketch Inspiration, I also joined in on the challenge over at the CSI website, where Shaunery Wharton is a design team member.  Their challenges really make you stretch your creativity.

Come on and join in on the fun using the wonderful sketches from Sketch Inspiration.  While you are having fun, you are also getting some pages made--YEAH!

IT'S A TAG-TASTIC SUNDAY

Yesterday everyone had a tag-tastic day at the store learning techniques and making beautiful tags.
Nanci explained and demonstrated the techniques that would be used to make the tags.
Then the creativity began:
Ann working her magic with the pine treees--love this!
Shaunery's lamp post tag in progress--love the snow on it!
Jean Marcotte's works in progress getting some drying time.  Beautiful!
Shannon's reindeer tag in progress.
My reindeer tag in progress.
Sandy's embossed tag with the pinecone on it...love the two-tone background!
Another creation by Sandy - love the falling snow.
Look at Shaunery's layered Santa tag.  LOVE how she used Flower Soft on the 25.
 Shannon's beautiful snowman tag.
My 3D Noel reindeer tag.
My ultra sparkly snowman tag.

We all had so much fun creating the tags, looking at each other's creations, sharing creativity and learning from each other and Nanci.  SO MUCH FUN!  Everyone is looking forward to next Saturday's class.

Thanks to Nanci and Cat for a fun-filled creative day.

IT'S CATURDAY

So, what do you have planned this weekend?

A lot of us will be at Cat's for Nanci's version of the Tim Holtz Twelve Tags of Christmas class.  We will make three tags on Saturday and then the remainder will be made in two subsequent classes.  It's hard to believe it is getting close to the holidays.  Christmas is less than TWO months away!  YIKES!It is time to start thinking about that Christmas list if you haven't already.  There are several classes coming up at the store that would make great Christmas gifts.
This Christmas window project by Canvas Corp. would make a fabulous Christmas gift for someone or would be a great addition to your Christmas decor.
The class is Thursday, November 1st at 6:00 p.m.
Do you have a cook on your Christmas list?  This recipe card drawer/holder would make a wonderful gift for them (or you, if you can't bear to give it away).
The class is Thursday, November 8th at 6:00 p.m.

This Christmas album by Bazzill using their Lickety Slip page protectors would make a great gift for someone to preserve their Christmas memories.  Or, you could fill it with photos for some very lucky grandparents, who will be delighted.
The class is Saturday, December 8th at 2:00 p.m.

Another great gift idea is this birthday reminder book.  Filled with cards, it is a very thoughtful gift that will thrill the recipient.
This class is Saturday, December 29th at 2:00 p.m.
These card boxes are also great gift ideas.  However, they aren't $6.00 like I said on Thursday.  Cat had gotten a special deal on the first batch and they are now $9.99.  However, it is still an inexpensive gift since you can use papers and embellishments from your stash.

I hope I have helped you with your Christmas list.  Call the store to reserve a spot in these classes and start marking those gifts off of your list.

IT'S FRIDAY....YEAH!!!

and this kitty will make you SMILE!

This Friday, we are going to feature some of the new products we have all fallen in love with.  I have been scrapbooking for about 5-6 years now, and it is amazing all of the changes in what we love and the trends that have come and gone...and are back again.
We love Authentique's beautiful, textured, heavy-weight cardstock.
Carta Bella is very new and has beautiful, textured paper as well.
Echo Park is just coming out with papers that we love all the time.
Fancy Pants has some great papers and their "smash" type albums are very popular.
Heidi Swap just came out with some new things that are very popular.
And then there is the huge washi (decorative) tape trend...so much fun!
Teresa Collins has just been coming out with amazing products.
NOW, SOME OLDIES, BUT GOODIES:
We can always count on BoBunny for some absolutely gorgeous papers.
My Minds Eye just keeps on coming out with amazing products.
Reminisce always has some great paper collections and their 3D travel stickers are a necessity.
Tim Holtz products just gain in popularity all of the time.  And that leads me to the next thing...products that are back in style...such as the manual die cutting machines.
Embossing powders - now we have distressed ones...which are really cool.  In addition, glitter, micro-beads, and so much more are back in "trend".
The best thing of all - everything you need is at Cat's!
I hope your weekend plans include a trip to Cat's to get the latest and greatest products.
See you there!

THANKFUL THURSDAY

It's Thursday...what are you thankful for?   At Cat's, we are so very thankful for you, our wonderful customers.  Without you there would be no store!  Today only, in appreciation for your patronage, enjoy double punches for your purchase if you show this blog post to Cat or Valerie.  That means if your spend $50, you get $100 worth of punches.  You can fill those cards up fast!

Have you altered a storage box for greeting cards yet?  They make great gifts and are so much fun to alter.  Cat never dreamed when she ordered these that they would be so popular.  We first altered them at the Big Girl's Color Club (BGCC) and then again at the You Ought to be in Pictures event.  In addition, people have purchased them to alter and fill with cards for gifts.  Here are some of the ones that have been created:
Sandy Trefger created this one when we altered them at the BGCC.
Look at the one Vickie is working on during You Ought to be in Pictures.
This is Carol Houston's creation this past weekend.
This is Nanci's creation.  She used one of her tags for part of her decorations.
This is the box Valerie made for her mom, with cards inside.
I made this box for my mom
and this one for my mother-in-law.

Cat has these boxes and they are only $6.00.  Then, you just use either glossy accents or score tape and the paper and embellishments you choose.  They are so much fun to decorate and make such great gifts...but you might want to make an extra one for YOU!  Head on down to the store to pick one up...today you would get double punches for your purchase!
